Most people prefer playing as town over mafia. lurking is, for a lot of people, more indicative as mafia behavior, i think.

That is weird and sounds so backwards to me.

I also have a bit of a problem to read anything into that style tbh.

Like, I liked Jan's "let's stop just having these consensus scumreads without thinking", and the he makes posts like those. And I don't quite know what to think of that.

 

Who's giving Cobalt a pass, though? I'm certainly not. Like, I thought the GD claim was partly so that guy could get extra scrutiny, and I'm not seeing that at all. And he's been radically different from TinyHunt.

I agree with you about Jan. I didn't understand the whole pressure/not pressure/meta/"scum!Jan isn't stupid he wouldn't do X, Y, Z" stuff from Jan. I mean, I understood the words, I just don't quite see it from a town mindset.

When I think about angry!Jan, I think about Narutomafia where he was getting mad at Pozzai (who was confirmed at that point) not stepping up and making a call between himself and Snowvon. He was frustrated, so he claimed, and took over the game and said "Pozzai/Newcomb do something." The frustration was pure, and part of the reason I turbo'd the lynch onto Snow. (That and the claim was believable).

It was later in the game, so it's not exactly an analogous scenario, but on balance, this feels different. Jan almost seems like he's openly howling - like I said, talking up his scumplay is NOT something I've seen from Jan before. And his attitude towards fonti... now that I think I have a handle on it, I'm having a really hard time seeing how it comes from a town mindset. I see a lot of complaints that she's posting one-liners and a lot of "paranoia" that her scumplay is good enough to fake everything she's been doing. But it's not really a push. He's not going back and saying, "you said this thing here, what did you mean?" "You said X here and Y here, why the change?" "Your vote was on X here but you said scum!Y here, why?" It's... hollow. Artificial. Clumsy. Some adjective like that.

The fixation on fonti is real. I noted a possible Jan/fonti team earlier, and I'm having second thoughts. I... don't think scum!Jan would be talking about his partner this way?

If I have time today I'll try to ISO Jan and pull out some quotes, but there have been multiple times when I've read something he's written and gone, "I don't believe the emotion you're expressing here."

Your two townreads were ok, but nothing of real value. Pretty sure that was no new information. Not every read has to be, but that makes it null at best.

Both your cobalt and lucky read seemed to leave you open in all directions in case you ever have to justify voting/non voting.

I am unsure how much you actually know about witchhunt, which would help me see how much about the push on lucky was real.
You might have done that because it might give you towncred, while knowing lucky is not dying today.


If that thoughtprocess about killing lucky was genuine, i would be leaning town on you.
