Harry Potter and the Temporal Beacon which despite being abandoned I quite liked. I think it's in the almost recommended section. As I recall the "pew pew" was a joke.

I once read a One-Shot where Harry accidentally has a Soul-Bond with Gabrielle. His body de-ages to match hers, they have to stay close to each other, and both quickly realize how completely and utterly ruined their lives are. I won't spoil the ending in case someone wants to read it, but it has a strangely catharsis feeling to it.

This isn't the one where they commit suicide, right?

Alright, New User here, so sorry if this is a repost, but I've been racking my brains trying to find a story that I read forever ago. In the story in question harry get's Sirius' bike, and as part of receiving it he has to go and have it repaired and touched up. As part of that process there's a scene with the 'bike's' creator (who is a broom designer for nimbus) Where the bike is revealed to be a heavy modified broom with powerful enchantments over it that make it look and sound like a bike.

Also as part of his inheritance he finds out that he owns some keep out in some rural area that he ends up running away to for some reason. He initially attempts to take Ron with him, but something happens en route (I think Luna is attacked, and they stop to help her... or something like that.) And Ron decides that he'll come along after. Harry ends up by himself in the country side in Sirius' crashpad and he constantly travels into the nearby town to eat at a restaurant. He eventually meets a girl there who's a muggle singer or Violinist.

    Other memorably bits of information were;

    - The daily prophet and Witch Weekly were Murdoch controlled papers.
    - The girl in question was also running away from her own fame as a well known singer/violinist.
    - The girl's mother was an old paramour of Sirius' though I don't think the kid was Sirius'.
    - Harry's lawyer attempts to collect some form of archaic taxes or rent from the locals, and Harry has to put him right.

It's a terrible story, despite everything. They're both bitter about it their whole 100 years? Bullshit. Talk about dumb plotline.

Been a while since I read it. I read all of it, and it's like 450K words, so... good enough, I guess? My recollection is that it holds up pretty well for its age, that the writing is pretty solid. Kind of a rambling plot with good character development is my memory, but don't quote me on that.

It's one of the best stories of its era and one of the few that are still worth reading. It feels dated in places, but it's well written and isn't one of those stories where all of its ideas were copied and run into the ground by inferior later stories.

It was only 10 years as I remember. And they certainly werent bitter in the end, just exhausted from the forced bond and lost the will to live.

Yeah, they kind of just gave up and died.

The end bit where her parents find them, hoping that things were changing, only to find them dead? Was a nice punch.

I'm trying to find a story I previously read, which contained the Gringotts version of "New York, New York"

Looking for the story where the infamous Blood Wards actually did their job properly and protected Harry against his relatives.

Did anyone ever pull off a decent "Sirius had a kid" Fic? I'm asking because I've been considering a Bunny of mine involving the idea, and I want to know if someone managed to do it properly.

I've asked about this before but does anyone know the story in which Harry follows Dung to the hog's head and beats him up for taking Sirius's stuff? I'm pretty sure Harry and Dumbledore talk about it later. It's driving me crazy not knowing what it is.

I only remembered the fic Summer of Independence where Hermione turned out to be Sirius' biological daughter, but I have to warn that the story if full of cliches.

Rise of the Wizards, Chapter 16.
