A story where Harry Potter travels to the past for one week, forges magically binding marriage contracts between many students in the future who hate each other. And then he returns to the future with the contacts, so that in-between all those years, the marriage contracts were unknown and unacknowledged by magic, but now that the marriage contracts are present in the timeline, the entity of magic demands that the contracts be fulfilled.

 

Unconventional Romance Idea: An Actual Conventional High School Romance

Harry falls for a girl that he found to be hot and he shares actual interests with. The girl falls for him after they hang out for a while, both groups of friends are okay with it since they don't have to spend too much time with the significant other, they get in a relationship, things go well for a couple of months, girl/Harry turns too clingy, one dumps the other, Harry gets depresses for a couple of months and doesn't marry the girl. Fin.

Alternatively, like someone said before, they find each other years later when both have dated other people and matured and maybe try things again. Because that is what happens most of the times when you have a girlfriend at sixteen.

 

It's the reason I enjoy reading stories of Harry and Hermione cheating on their spouses with each other.

It just gets so tiring reading about them falling in love and getting married, while teenagers, because it's quite obvious they would not be compatible in anything more than a casual relationship.

Both are just too controlling and domineering.

He is a bit controlling; it's not obvious because of the more important things going on in the book, and because it's not frequently mentioned, but he does have a bit of a control streak.

 

I think we read different books.
