He's not dead, he's just not there right now. In all honesty, I bet they'll have Ronnie on Earth 2 while all of this season happens and maybe next year we'll sea Jay bond with Ronnie. I don't know why would the show pick a new character when they had introduced Jason Rush the past season but meh. Really hope they make Firestorm work with the 3 members on the matrix somehow.

Loved the end where Garrick just walked in straight into the cortex while Cisco was saying yeah the lab is impenetrable now. Aside from that it was a bit meh episode. I still don't get how Flash can't seem to kite everybody to tomorrow. If someone knows the mythos better please tell me; Does he not have super reflexes as his power along with the super speed?

The main problem with Flash is they restructure his power "level" every week so to speak based on the villain of the week for plot reasons.

He does, we've seen him catch bullets. But it's not always on more like he needs a small amount of time to engage and speed up.

By far my biggest frustration with the show so far. There are normal human athletes out there that are really, really damned hard to hit with a punch - watch Muhammad Ali clips for a bit to get a reference - but a guy that can move faster than the speed of sound regularly gets beaten like a redheaded stepchild by people without super-speed. They need to establish the range of his power and stick with it.

    THIS.

But, seems they make the same mistake with Arrow as well.

Well the thing is that while I agree the problem does exist I understand it much more on the Flash. If Barry used his abilities to the fullest extent continuously then literally no one but the Reverse Flash and up would even come close to being a threat to him. Any filler type episode would just consist of one nano-second long scene with the "enemy", a red streak and the same "enemy" suddenly spread across several miles in a broken smear of meat.

I get the "Dial-a-yield" approach to Barry, but if they could keep it more consistent it'd be better. Make him have to fight because he has to learn new ways to approach his enemy, but not reduce him from what he's been built up to before (at least, not without a storyline-an all-nighter helping on a case weakens his ability to heal, type of thing). I guess, just a bit more consistency is what I'm after. Otherwise, it looks overdramatized.

I get your point, I really do and I suppose it's just me being a long time comic book fan that lets me write this kind of stuff off. In the comics a more mild feat is The Flash being fast enough to evacuate a city of over half a million one at a time safely during the detonation of a nuclear bomb with no one even getting wounded. Then a guy with a gun is supposed to be taken seriously.

That could very well be it. Comic books are their own genre, and these are taken from that genre, which has its own rules. I guess I should probably allow it to play out according to that.

Please. Don't you remember the episode with the guy who could control weather? Barry moved faster than light in that episode, which had me banging my head against the desk.

My personal favorite is from the beginning. Remember him confessing to Iris in his lab while time essentially stood still?

Yup. There are just too many inconsistencies. Remember the crossover episode with the boomerang guy in Starling City? Barry rushes in, catches the boomerangs before they hit Oliver and Roy, and then smirks when everyone looks at him. The boomerang guy throws down some smoke/flash pellets and escapes... escapes from the Flash, who should be able to catch and subdue him before the pellets hit the ground. What does he do? He watches the dude throw it down, and then continues smirking at Oliver before rushing off. If what he did in the episode with Iris is true, then... :\

They're trying to make the villains actually have a chance against the Flash, but doing it in a spectacularly awful way.

My personal favorite is when he outran lightning to save Cisco I think it was in a parking garage but the finale treated hitting low Mach speeds like a completely new and novel thing.

Season 1 Arrow was just killing the baddies, s2 was more containing them, S1 flash was containing the baddies, season 2 flash is just killing them...

Eh, they homaged the "Flash of Two Worlds" cover, so I'm pretty happy regardless.

Pretty solid episode. The sand CGI might not have been the best but it was good overall.

Jay is an amazing addition to the vast, be it for the whole multiverse aspect or because of an experienced, speedster mentor for Barry. Patty, on the other hand may become annoying if not used correctly on the future. She's miles ahead of Iris on my list though. Really hope she ends up something ala Felicity S2.

Also, the homage to "The Flash of Two Worlds" was super cheesy and I loved it to bits. Detest the forced romance that they seem to be setting up for Jay's and Caitlin's arcs this season. Joe and Professor Stein are by far my favorite characters.

The last line of the episode was definitely creepy though.
