    Looks pretty great.

As far as Platinum, I'm a big fanboy, and while Transformers looks meh, that's because my feelings towards the property itself amount to "meh" not because of anything about the game, which looks like it probably plays well.

Scalebound meanwhile looks fantastic, so I don't really agree with the lukewarm reception, but to each their own.

I own NieR, really have to get around to playing it though.

I got Legend of Grimrock 2 from the Humble Monthly bundle, hopefully will fire it up tonight, looking forward to playing an oldschool style game.

Of their recent games, Bayoneta was good, but not for me, and I really disliked Korra, 101 and Transformers.

I loved Vanquish and liked Revengeance.

They're now making Nier, Scalebound, Project Guard and Starfox concurrently - and Transformers just came out.

They're spreading themselves too thin and - imo - it's showing on their games.

I hope I'm wrong. Maybe they've hired massively with the influx of work. Last I heard they were at one-eighty employees.

Well Korra and Transformers were both cash-in titles, so I doubt they put as much effort into them. We might see the same thing with Starfox, but I'd be shocked if Scalebound and Nier get that same treatment.

On Paradox acquiring White Wolf, I doubt they're going to make anything in-house. The big benefit is that, unlike CCP, Paradox is willing to work with third-party developers. Hopefully this means that White Wolf's IPs will be available for licensing once again.

New Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer drops in 8 hours.

Supposedly it's the one they showed at the Tokyo D23 expo yesterday, they're just releasing it to public then.

Still salty with 3 and NV breaking on me.

When they get a new engine (or set a Fallout game in China), then I'll get hyped again.

I'm genuinely curious about how it'll be received though.

The engine is new, isn't it?

    Apparently not.

I mean.. that's kinda concerning, but at the same time, iterative progress could mean good things.

Can't fucking wait. I must be one of the lucky few who had fuck all problems with 3 or NV, despite adding dozens of mods to each.

YMMV, obviously. Personally, the state of the Skyrim ps3 version, and the amount of time it was broken for, was the more egregious fuck up imo.

I've not had a great track record with their games. If I bought another and it broke again, I'd have no one to blame but myself, lol.

The issues with the PS3 version of Skyrim were caused mostly by Sony, if I remember correctly. They got butthurt over xbox's exclusivity deal and wouldn't let Bethesda patch it until the Legendary edition came out.

Heh. Don't mind me. Just sitting here remembering that there are console versions of Bethesda games.

    Honestly forgot.

    It's a curse.

They'll probably get the console versions right this time. They're both basically the same machine.

Now how exactly modding is supposed to work on them is going to be a different story. Unless that little promise got dropped when I wasn't looking.

Yeah, I bought Fallout 3 and NV on PC. That didn't work out so well for me, I sure as shit wasn't going to buy the PC version again.

As for why the PS3 version was broken?

    Here's a good summary.

The ps3 was architecturally different to the 360, and in the beginning, more difficult to develop for. From memory it was a RAM allocation issue.

Either way, Sony obviously wasn't stopping them putting out patches, they just couldn't fix it in time before I lost interest.

I'm still not sure if it was ever fixed tbh.

Huh, alright. So where the hell did I hear Sony threw a bitchfit....

    Eh, doesn't really matter.

My copy of Legendary works fine, so they must have fixed it at some point.

Mods have been discussed fairly heavily in the Fallout 4 thread, Callagan, but it seems like all console mods will go through an approval process of some kind through a bethesda.net upload service. They're preventing save file corruption by making a secondary save with activated mods, though I have no idea how they plan to prevent the core game files from getting fucked. There are no protections against people breaking their game with conflicting mods or something stupid, though.

You heard that because both consoles do, or did, force patches to go through cert, which made them slower than PC patches, IIRC.

    Not by years though, lol.

    Saw this today.

    http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/company/careers/posting.html?id=15000XZ

"Compelling stories. Intense multiplayer. Endless replayability. Qualities that made StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II the titans of their day. Evolving operating systems, hardware, and online services have made them more difficult to be experienced by their loyal followers or reaching a new generation.

We’re restoring them to glory, and we need your engineering talents, your passion, and your ability to get tough jobs done.

So if you like wearing many hats, know small teams are the most effective, and look forward to challenges that will create millions of new adventures for our players: we would love to hear from you."

    RESPONSIBILITIES
Make gameplay first again on modern operating systems.
Create conditions for experiences that look as good as they play.
Own implementation and curation of features new and old.
    Combat hacking to improve multiplayer.
Diagnose and fix all the things: crashes, deadlocks, overflows, heap corruptions, etc.

Diablo 2 is still the best game I've ever played. In fact, it's my go-to game, and I'm currently playing on the "public" reddit server. It looks like it's getting a refurbishment or a remix or whatever you want to call it, probably HD and forward compatibility on the newest OS. There's already an HD mod, and it does work on modern OS just fine, but it's nice that there's going to be an "official" version. Hoping for anything beyond that is optimistic, but possible, such as fixing the known bugs, or even an outright new patch with new stuff. There's a lot of holes and gaps in the sets/unique that could be looked at and filled, stuff that mod overhauls have fixed for 10+ years, but I like to get my hopes up. I guess that's what "Own implementation and curation of features new and old." could be interpreted as.

There's a public reddit server? I know what I'm doing until Fallout 4 comes out. Is the info for it on the Diablo board?

I've been playing there for about 3 weeks now. The worst part of it is the name - Slash Diablo. Bots aren't tolerated at all, so you can sort of get the old-school experience, though the community is a bit small and tight-knit. It's sometimes hard to find hell-baal or chaos games, but not impossible. Their ladder reset less than a month ago, so it's still pretty fresh. I'm in the top 20 at level 94 right now.

Has anyone here finished the new assassins creed out this month? It it worth buying after the mess that was unity? I tried so hard to get through unity but the npcs would never behave properly and I could never get Arno to go through windows or into buildings. I just watched the end of unity on youtube and the story was so confusing like I'm still ????? with it. Does the new assassins creed have a better (more comprehensible) story?

I like the promos of the new assassins; evie is a massive cutie but I won't buy it unless I know its good.

Also lol no way can you meat Karl Marx father of communism in assassins creed. Just for that alone I might have to buy the game; unless they make him like templar scum or something and you have to kill him like they did to Robespierre.
