After how things went out yesterday I would have felt better with either a Jan or Koalas shoot as Plot said he would do in the beginning. Either way we at least learnt something.

    Vote Jan

Shadow shook his head. "You know," he said, "I think I would rather be a man than a god. We don’t need anyone to believe in us. We just keep going anyhow. It’s what we do."

    Jan has been lynched!

    He was...

    The game is over!

    Town wins!

    Notes:

I'll be back later tonight with more comprehensive notes (RL just destroyed me this weekend, and surprisingly Montana is pants for wireless internet/ cell service)

    Quick takeaways:

Newbies played pretty well for the most part. A big thing for next time is to be more proactive with your vote.

Town MVP: Never in doubt. fonti wrecked souls this game, was fun to watch.

Scum MVP: Jan played an exceptional game, just ran out of places to hide. That D1 was almost impossible to recover from, but damn, A+ effort in trying.

I'll let Eido chime in with Things, and like I said I'll probably have some more comprehensive thoughts at some point.

Thanks for playing, hope y'all had as much fun as I did hosting!

Jan, your game was fucking stellar. I wouldn't want to have anyone else as my scummate *tear*

Also there's basically less than a 5% chance anyone can convince me this setup was balanced, but feel free to try.

I was given a power role, which probably gives the scum some sort of advantage.

Setup was swingy, absolutely. But scum also could have won on day three.

If the exact same setup is played a thousand times across a thousand alternate universes, I probably say town wins 55-60%. Because 3 scum aren't dead by night two in most of those.

But setup discussion isn't going to be remotely productive considering salt levels of the scum team for getting rolled, so, whatever.

    ~~

Fontisian played an obviously great game.

Newbies for the most part did pretty well - Blorcyn soaked a NK as vanilla, which is always the dream, Plotless made a superb use of his ability, and most of them were fairly transparent town.

Jan played a solid game - possibly left himself too few outs to take, but not doing so would have looked even scummier.

The rest of the scum team, uh, not so much. Citrus at least fought against his death, but Titus and TMNT kind of just rolled over and died.

Newcomb touched on it, but you guys will want to use your votes more aggressively, and be a little less 'follow the leader' in the future. It's very, very rare for one person to have the accuracy that Fontisian did this game, to say the least.

    *cough Irene*

I'm basically a salt pillar rn so I probably should stop harping on setup

My last comment about setup: I think the issue was there was very little rubber-banding IE there's very little come-back potential for either side.

Town had a bunch of powerful night actions, stemmed via delayed activation. Should town be in LYLO on D3 a lot of night actions may not even come into play (Innocent Child, Backup, etc.). This basically sets up the game so either scum does well early and it's very hard for town to recover, or what happened here where scum don't do well and they can't deal with the wall of townfirms occurring.

I think having a bit more rubber-banding for either side would help, that's probably my biggest suggestion for building a setup like this in the future

When she revealed she was a day-killing vigilante with her tunnel on me I died a little inside (the rest of me died when she actually shot)

Yeah, it was a swingy setup with skill intensive actions - the tracker could have functioned as a vanilla checker, but it just fluked into confirming Kalas with his only shot instead.

Everything that could have gone wrong for the scum team...did.

Was also a little disappointed Jan didn't live long enough to troll-shoot LJ, but victory is nice too, I guess.

    Where there any neutrals?

---------- Post automerged at 08:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:30 PM ----------

Ok. So, I have a couple of things to say:

    1) Sorry about my engagement. For starters, like I said D2, town leaders that aren't me kinda piss me off, which is super hypocritical, but I can't help it. I did start caring/playing when it mattered though.

    2) I just realized why the vote thing bothered you guys like yesterday. I completely blanked on the whole majority vote thing because I'm used to games either being majority or with a deadline, but not with both. It was a really weird experience.

    3) Days were wayyyyyy too long for me.

    4) I'm kinda mad at everyone that kept shitting all over my play all game. 3 of the 4 people I called out D1 all turned out to be scum. And while I did try to lynch Elemental over TMNT D2, it was never because I thought TMNT was good. It was because I thought they were scum together because of their ridiculously bussy crossposts.

    5) Same with people that said that I wasn't consistently pushing my reads. Like my two reads that I both pushed all game and never doubted were that Plotless was town and that Jan was not. Yes, there was a stretch that I was convinced that he was Neutral because of his obsession with me being 3p. But we should have fucking lynched him the day we lynched Banks.

    6) Jan did what is hands down one of the biggest evil tells. He spent a shitton of time and effort coloring tallies but did almost nothing with them. If you see someone do that, burn them with fire because they are probably evil.

---------- Post automerged at 09:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:44 PM ----------

BTW- Everyone that was ok with being shot was mafia, and everyone that argued with being shot was town.

    Just as food for thought.

Wasn't Koalas okay with being shot?

I remember cracking up because plans that result in his death haven't historically worked too well.

I don't remember him saying that.

Both Citrus and Jan said something along the lines of "Go ahead, you'll confirm me." Whereas I know that Rubicon and I both pushed back against the idea of us being shot. I'd thought Koalas had too.

I'm still mad I got shot.
