I think the drug is also enhancing the lead's psychosis. It's a curious way of showing us how different of a mentality he has from Morra. No idea if they did I on purpose or just to add drama.

I loved that movie, despite the 10%-Brain-Cliche/Myth.

You know what would be awesome? If everyone in the world got influenced by NZT. Imagine a world full of super-intelligent people. Now that's a setting!

I saw the pilot episode. Was quite a bit better than I expected, and I'm afraid the rest won't hold up, especially if Cooper won't appear again.

I also saw that an episode 0 thing exists. What's with that?

He's a producer and is scheduled to appear in the next episode. He'll be in most of the series.

Republic, episode 0 might be something like the special before season 5 of GoT, a mini-documentry about how they created the series.

Well episode 6 and out and it has Bradley Cooper in it.

Good episode too, showcasing side effects of NZT.

What I liked most was how differently Morra treated Brian. Whether he was telling the truth about wanting a partner or not, it makes sense for him to switch his act as soon as he realized it wasn't working. Makes him a lot more believable master manipulator. Though I suspect the next time he shows up, he will once again be more of an antagonist to keep viewers guessing what really is his goal.

I finally caught up with this series. I have to say, it's much, much better than I feared it would be. I am really impressed.

The MC is actually someone I enjoy watching. I like their spin on another NZT protagonist that isn't Morra, and would continue watching the series even if Morra played 0 part in it.

However, he does, and every time he appears or his name comes up everything becomes many times more interesting and entertaining. Especially in this last episode, it was amazing to watch Cooper play Morra. It leaves you wondering how much of what Morra told Finch is true, and even if it is, how much is withheld. Morra played Finch like a fiddle and while he does appear to have a mostly antagonistic role so far, we (at least I) still have the protagonist feeling whenever I see Morra.

Like reading an HP fic from someone else's perspective in which Harry appears rarely but is always portrayed amazingly and has a very important role. In a similar way, it feels like there's two protagonists -Finch and Morra. We follow Finch on his everyday life and work, while Morra pushes his agenda on the background, hints of which we saw on the Limitless movie and clues of which we've gotten on the series recently.

I like them both, and interactions between them are amazing to watch.

i have really been enjoying the latest couple of episodes. i was a bit scared that the show would end up being another in a long line of wierdo coupled with strong female detective crime shows, but they have managed to make it really interesting.

I agree. There have been a few who have been complaining about how he only uses his intelligence for the FBI, which is ridiculous. He is being monitored by multiple parties, and yet still corresponds with people on the verge of breakthroughs. The last episode was interesting in that we might just get to see Morra loosen the purse strings, and eventually provide Finch with NZT 24/7. The 4-5 he gave must be some sort of test to see how he would use them.

While I think Morra has gotten ruthless, I don't think he's the antagonist. His spiel using the new strain of rice as an example makes perfect sense. Never underestimate people's capacity for stupidity and especially greed. Politicians and their corporate masters especially!

Well I like this show. Even though it uses the normal guy becomes super intelligent trope, I don't mind. The protagonists, Finch and the FBI agent, are likeable. The acting is decent, too.

There is a good overarching main plot with the Senator, the pacing is good and the show stays relatively light, even though some themes are borderline grim at times.

That said, I hope the writers will distance themselves from the cop show dynamic and try something more original and with a broader focus. Otherwise it's going to get old very fast.

The Black Ops episode was decent, though felt a bit like a filler to me.

Still, the scene at the end when the song Oh Yeah by Yello plays was hilarious.

Morra has been using the NZT for a long time, and while the whole NZT's concept doesn't makes sense from a neuroscience standpoint, it's pretty obvious that he would get even smarter before by constantly using the drug. At some point I suppose Morra and Brian will clash, but for now the first seems to have his bases covered and has Brian under heavy surveillance, since that doctor who was giving NZT like candy was killed by his main minion after being found by Brian.

I'm expecting that a true antagonist who can match both Morra and Brian (the first's pawn, at least for now) in intelligence and cunning will appear, but without Morra's visionary views or Brian's wish to help people. It's pretty exciting, reminds me when I first watched Death Note. It also makes me wonder how smart someone who was already way above the average could get with one of those pills.

I'm of the theory that the smarter one actually is, the closest one is to actually using their brains to the fullest and the less actual effects NZT would have on them. Basically what NZT does is it provides perfect recall and the ability to analyze at tremendous speeds. It doesn't just add intelligence over what you already have, it brings everyone's brain to a certain level of activity.

There are people who already have abilities like these, to certain extents. These people would see improvement with NZT, sure, but not to the nearly miraculous extent that people like Brian (average by all accounts) see.

Makes sense. The whole theory of using only a fraction of the brain's potential is bullshit, but some of it's supporters did claim that people like Einstein were more intelligent because they managed to reach more of their innate potential than the average person.

Finch playing and having a chat with Ike brought a smile to my face. That felt like actual co-workers who like each other. Felt real.

Really solid episode. Involved pretty much everything that makes this show good.

    QFT. So much this.

I heard it as 'Ava' but I could be very, very wrong. It was spoken several times though, to be fair.

It's Ava but with a weird pronunciation. Pronounced like "Ava"cado.
