I've had to clear out the Corvega factory three times. The first one was a pain, but the other two I just ran through and cut off everyone's heads.

If people are looking for things to do later in the game (besides building homesteads), you can activate radio towers. It'll amplify the signals of the little HAM radios you find lying around, letting you find the hidden ones. There's usually one distress signal, and then two other miscellaneous signals.

Also, do the companion quests. Those are great.

You have to go into dialogue with him ('talk', then 'search for an item'). Best if you're in the tiny little cage thing with him at the time. Also, if anyone has a problem getting him to come into the vault with you like I did, just keep going up and down, he'll spawn in eventually. Took me like 7 tries. There should be 200 units of ammo in his inventory for it too.

Then after all that, I used up all of the ammo in one go trying to kill a Legendary Alpha Deathclaw I literally fell on top of. That was a hard fight, survival mode is difficult. I am on my second character already, and using energy weapons has proven to be much more expensive (even more so than previous Fallouts). Very little ammo drops for energy weapons, even with the scrounger perk. I have to buy almost all of it, which means I'm barely staying even caps wise and I'm still burning through my ammo super fast. Anyone know of a good place to buy/find lots of Energy Cells/Plasma?

So yeah, survival mode is fun. Highly recommend it. I just ran into 4 legendary super mutants at once and had to use 5 mini nukes to kill them. This game is awesome!

Man, it's good to hear that it's not just me, I really thought I was missing something. Plus, ballistic weapons just seem to pack so much more of a punch in this one, hell of a contrast to the previous games where I'd just melt everything with my near-unlimited supply of energy/plasma cells.

Ok, make sure you talk to him and specifically ask him to fetch.

Don't just activate him and point. You have to tell him to fetch.

Try and find out where a bunch of Synths spawn a lot. I've also been relying on my three crank rifle so far and the lack of ammo is becoming tiresome.

Best way to get fusion cells is by killing Synths, they always drop them.

So I just "robbed" this bank and trust station in Boston. Is the large amount of caps from gold bars worth more or less than 10 gold you get from it as a crafting resource? What all uses gold?

For the PC players among us:

So ever thought it was kinda shitty how you could modify all these weapons, but not create them from scratch?
So did I. Now you can craft all the basic guns yourself a la Skyrim, so long as you have the appropriate materials and perks of course. It's a bit hacky in its implementation since modding tools aren't out yet, but if you can live with going to the chemistry station to build shit, you'll probably enjoy.

I have a number of other mods as well people might like:

    http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/users/2177762/?tb=mods&pUp=1

Basic stuff, no fall damage, carry weight, easy lockpicking, removes the power armour fusion core drain, et cetera.

The other two interesting ones allow you to customize the rate of legendary enemy spawns, and create your own difficulty rebalance.

You're the one that made those? Nice. I'll grab the weapon crafting mod and give it a go.

I'm already using a similar mod to your power armor fusion core drain one that tries to find a decent midpoint between broke as fuck and useful:

Man, I can't wait til a Fallout 4 LOOT gets made.

Well the Nexus Mod Manager now has support for Fallout 4 which is great, it sucks that I'm alot more used to Mod Organizer now though. And for MO to work with Fallout 4 it needs to be updated to work with 64bit games which I have no clue when that's gonna happen.

The guy who updates MO said that he does want to make it so and has been working on it for the past couple a months; an alpha version might be available in a few weeks. So here's to hoping.

Jon : There's a mod that removes the object limit in settlements. Haven't given it more than a cursory glance so far, however.

I would rather think MO will be out around spring(alpha), cuz he wants to add more things to it (not only make it work with 64 bit client), probably close to creation kit

Looks like someone finally made this mod, letting you see the whole dialogue choice instead of a paraphrased version before you choose it.

I thought I wouldn't get to play this one for a while yet. And then, a friend with steam friends and family sharing bought it.

So far... I'm slightly disappointed, but optimistic.

The face creation hurt me a lot with it's menu tailored for controllers, and no proper list of options, forcing me to move a mouse around like in a click-adventure game, feeling like an idiot. Very bad first impression.

Otherwise... One of the many games that were tailored for the controller and even if the mouse is a hundred times more convenient I'm considering to give in completely and move back to the sofa, plugging in the xbox controller.

100 hours into my first play through, doing the typical stealth sniper face roll. My next play through I want to try a more heavy weapons/melee favored setup. Any weapons recommendations?

Has Bethesda given any info about when the CK will be released?

February 2015. So I'm making most of my mods (including that ridiculously difficult to make crafting mod) through hex edits and low level plugin managers to transfer records easier than copy-pasting arrays of bytes.

I figured there would be a fair bit of crossover of interests with this on DLP of all places, so I thought I'd post this - I just found out Patrick Rothfuss (author of the Name of the Wind for any who don't know) has been livestreaming him playing Fallout 4 on Twitch. I've only watched a little bit so far, but apparently he's been doing a lot of indepth critiquing of the storyline which is pretty cool.

Here's a link to the Day 1 Highlights and here's on to the stream itself.

Seratin Shitty attitude that a lot of people seem to have. No author is allowed to have free time or do anything but write. First game he's played in a few decades, but fuck him right? :p
