One of the Naruto fics I always recommend is Spying no Jutsu which I feel keeps a light-hearted tone throughout but also has some good action. It's no longer canon compliant but since most of the later stuff in the Naruto series is crap anyway I'm never that bothered.

 

Well, if you start off with reading the really great ones then you can't enjoy the ones that aren't written as well. For example, Sasuke bashing, Sakura bashing, Kakahsi bashing, super naruto, sharingan naruto - Those were all more or less readable back in the day. But the best writers these days don't rely on any of those.

 

That doesn't make any sense. Reading good things doesn't mean that someone can't enjoy bad things; one doesn't prelude the other.

 

So read less Naruto fanfiction instead of force reading trash?

My definition of bad fics are those with terrible grammar which are almost impossible to read anyway. Someone starting out has the joy of experiencing all the genres which has a huge selection.
The experienced reader has to wait for a new and exiting fic to pop up that's all.

 

Reading bad fanfiction first only works if you're new to fanfiction as a whole. Otherwise you'll just compare it to other fandoms' work and find it lacking. I believe the opposite is far more effective; once the best the fandom has to offer has hooked you, you'll get desperate for more and be able to stomach the worse stuff.

Huh. This has to be the best update in a while, if for no other reason than for the amount of stuff that's happening. And it's not just angst, either. Hell, angst isn't even a big part of this chapter.

Great Clan Days has a few issues but I think it's worth following.

 

It never really clicked with me. Though I've tried reading it quite a few times.

Kenichi has a unique ability to shell out thousands of words at a time. However I've found that certain stories just don't click with me. I also find myself particularly in the Naruto fandom to loose interest in a fic if it takes a while to update.

 

Loyalty by True Radical Dreamer just updated. IDK if it has a thread but im pretty sure I saw it on here.
After a large action beat in the arc, this is part of a slower downturn in the story as Sakura returns to Konoha and faces her old life. Looks like the next chapter could be where things spark up again, but this was a slow update.

 

I actually did enjoy her interaction with Ino.

Though I feel like keeping her on Team 7 seems forced, and sort of reduces the impact of her being found out. She should be in a situation that makes it a lot harder to simply fix her relationships with everyone. There should have been more tension, for longer.

I hope we can move onto the invasion itself soon, or at least some more action of some kind. At the very least some thing above and beyond two individuals talking, which is all that happened here.

 

Written in Reverse by JMenace updated. Should it be in the Library? I think it's good enough, and at almost 70k words it's long enough for its own thread imo. I know it's in the WBA and a lot of people like it, so maybe there's a good reason nobody has put it up for review yet.
