I'm so glad Tennant isn't actually purple. The purple suits will look infinitely better than purple skin. That being said, I really hope that whenever a character is asked about their memories while they were being controlled they say something like: "All I remember is purple," or "The purple man is the last thing I remembered."


Man, am I hyped for this show. Brian Michael Bendis, the creator of ALIAS (the comic this is inspired on), has gone on record saying the show is an almost page by page adaptation of his work. If any of you enjoy the show when it comes out, be sure to give the comic a shot.

Also, Luke Cage hype! Just three more days.

Anyone remember if Daredevil, or any other Netflix show, went up at midnight? I had no internet for a week when Daredevil premiered

 

I'm pretty sure Netflix release all their shows at 12:01am on the day of their release.

Sadly this means that I'll have to wait till it's 12:01am in American, coz it's now 12:20am in Australia and no Jessica Jones.

 

Netflix typically drops new shows at 12 AM Pacific Time. Pretty sure that they don't stagger it across timezones.

Its pretty awesome. All in all I prefer Daredevil, probably just preference, but this story is a lot more... contained? I guess is the word.

 

A story and its world. Still, after 7 episodes I can say that it does not disappoint. Daredevil started it, but Jessica Jones is really pushing the boundaries of mainstream superhero shows. DC/WB really need to up their game with what they're doing with their own properties.

 

Tennant is killing it as Killgrave, really good decision on that casting call.

 

I just finished episode 4, but I'm just popping in to report that this is some creepy-ass shit. Kilgrave makes me feel like I need a shower, physical and mental.

Loving it so far.

 

Only seen the first episode so far. This is really good. I think I prefer it to Daredevil even, though I haven't yet seen how Kilgrave compares to Fisk.

Just finished episode 2. It hasn't quite got the...thrill, I suppose, of Daredevil, even if it was a pretty grim thrill, but it oozes quality. And Nightmare fuel. Tennant's only had one scene on screen so far, and just...*shudders* Utterly repellent.

Let's not take anything away from Ritter though. She's pretty good so far, a little spiky, a little hard to like, but still keeping me rivetted.

Only on episode 2, but could someone explain the twins to me? Are they just weird or are they fucking each other?

 

I got the impression that they were fucking too, but I don't think they are. They're just a little (read: a lot) weird.

I'm just starting Episode 8 and I'm getting very into this. Tennant is brilliantly creepy and plays the crazy evil guy really well. I'm gonna watch all of the episodes available even if it does take me until 4AM.

 

Bout halfway through. Absolutely loving it so far. Tennant just sucks you in, and Ritter is pretty great too. My raven-hair fetish is only slightly coloring my opinion of her performance.

 

Huh...got so caught up in the Hope thing that it took me 'til ep 8 to realize that Kilgrave in any kind of government institution would be a really, really bad idea.

Side-note: How much apple juice did Ritter drink on this show?

 

So I'm looking to go into this blind, never read the comic, not very into Marvel comics honestly, but I've watched and liked all the movies (haven't seen AntMan). I never watched Daredevil though.

I saw this described as neo-noir, and it has an apparently badass female main character. These both appeal to me, but do I need to see Daredevil first? at all? Or can I just watch this.

 

Zero Daredevil knowledge is needed so far. It's very self contained.

 

Just got home from uni and I'm about to marathon this. I shall return in 13 hours.

On a sidenote, has anyone of you noticed references to the MCU? A friend said she didn't but I don't think she is up to speed on the whole universe.

 

Going into episode four right now. There was a brief mention of Hulk and the alien invasion from Avengers, but that's all I've noticed.
