What is your take on duelling with dual wands?

    That it's a bad idea.

A bad idea for the author (because it signifies one of those odious Indy!Harry stories) and a bad idea for the wizard (because it is probably even more problematic to pull off than dual wielding pistols; just aiming would be hard, let alone getting spells off).

Only if they're dual Basilisk Fangs with Harrys blood as the core.

I'm pretty sure that wizards actually use their free hand to help channel their magic.Well atleast in the movies if my memory serves me right. Dumbles vs Voldie anyone?
Anyway , a sword is x10000 cooler then dualwielding wands.

False. They're equally retarded. Also, please stop using "Dumbles" and "Voldie." It makes you come across as a small child who can't yet pronounce multi-syllable words.

Movies aren't canon, any information coming from them is irrelevant.

The Unforgiving Minute pretty much nailed it with the addition of a blade in Harry's free hand. Don't think it's cool? (Shrugs) Then we agree to disagree.

I beg your forgiveness for not following the holy covenants of DLP .

A great fic doing an awful thing well does not absolve the awful thing of being terrible. It is merely the exception that proves the rule. The general case is going to be "This is a bad idea and should be avoided."

They don't, but it's an interesting idea. More powerful spells or rituals requiring more than just wand movements, but movement of the entire body to control.

    Oh. Oh dear.

He shouldn't really have to. He's a wizard.

Unless he's using one to get the drop on wizard in a place where magic isn't an option for whatever reason.

I think its cringe-worthy and should never be done.

    Not at all.

I'm more in line with the Harry Dresden school of thought on guns.

Warlocks arriving for a wizards duel never expect a .44 to the face.

A bullet to the head is as effective against a wizard as it is to a muggle. I'm pretty sure that Voldemort doesn't have the reflexes to shield or deflect a bullet that he isn't aware it's coming, but where would be the fun on that? Harry Potter is all about magic.

A gun would probably work once, then everyone would just start charming their robes to repel gunfire whenever they had to deal with the perpetrator, in the HPverse.

Jesus Christ. Not only has this debate been done to death (and none of you are saying anything new), but you've chosen literally the worst thread to resurrect it in -_-
