I... feel as an admin i must express unbiased views on the matter, but I remember the S&P. Thus I can say Im not entirely sure ts a good idea. If the members think we're ban happy now, they saw nothing.

Too little control was takin in that area and a lot of the members though, as IP suggested, that everything was allowed. It wasnt, but no admin, save middy, ever stepped up to the plate.

IF S&P is ever revived, rest assured that there would be a sticky post that would be the only warning and any further transgressions would be met with instant action, be it bannage or else.

I support the idea so long as every member supports my right to ban the first idiot to post necrophelic beastiality. It did happen.

The staff has worked really hard to get this site back under control and manageable. Lets not fuck that up.

DLP has more admins now than it did then. Maintaining an S&P section would require the appointment of an admin specifically for that part of the site. I see what you're saying Vash and that's the only thing I can think of to remedy that.

I agree with Vash, there would have to be strictly enforced rules, but really, other than that, I would say go for it.

I remember coming here and just looking through some of that stuff, and boy was it disturbing, but it also set DLP apart from the other sites, as soon as you saw S&P and 'the Office' you knew that this was not your standard H/G lovefest site, this was the real deal.

Oh and by the way, for the person that said the DGoC posted some truly disturbing stuff, yeah he did, but on the previous incarnation of his Yahoo! group, there was one poster, he was so twisted I personally think it would rival anything even from the height of S&P.
Demon himself said that it was truly twisted and disturbing shit.

As for those that say invite only, well sure we need someway to ensure that you only get mature posters, but there would also be those that rarely post, but still enjoy DLP, and have other things up in their life (ie. myself), however I would still like to be a member of a new S&P (if it ever happens). So how would you deal with those people?
Also, DLP is large enough now that you simply cannot have a person sending out invites to those deemed worthy, it would be a full time job, and probably more effort than it is worth.
I would recommend more of an optional thing under the UserCP, that you can only view after having a certain number of posts (say 200). That way, if you have survived 200 posts here, you are likely not an idiot and will have a good idea of what you are going into, but you will still have the choice of whether or not to go to the S&P.

Anyway just my two cents, IMO go ahead and make it, just ensure that the rules are enforced.

Or you could just PM one of the people capable of sending out invites and pleading your case.

    Vash:

Oddly enough I'm in full agreement with you about the insta-ban thing. Necrophiliac Beastiality pics are not only illegal, but pretty fucking disgusting to boot!

I think that the S/P Section should have a separate terms of use -- basically "Nothing illegal, no links to anything illegal, no porn (as we have underage members and it therefore falls into the illegal category), no links to porn, and especially no necrophiliac beastiality porn."

Or summed up more effectively "No pornographic images or links to them".

Oi! I've always supported the admins right to ban anyone at will.

*blink...* Not really. The admins we have now are the same ones that were here when I joined. If you mean mods, then yeah, but we also sort of lost Sree since he's over in India. :/
Seconded. It looks like the majority consensus is in favor of it, to, how many voters should we go to until we ask for it to be made, do you think?

I recomend the number to be 100 people if you include the people who voted " I laugh at the people that vote god no".

    I go by "Voters: 58."

So, do we want to wait until 100? Or does everyone think we have a sufficient consensus.

We seem to have a good consensus, but I'd wait just a bit longer.
    I'm all for the bannage.
    Banning is good.
    Most of the time. :)

I'll support the right to ban the dumbasses that break the rules. I honestly can't see what the fuss is about the right to ban them. It's quite simple.

    1. See idiotic post that breaks the rules.

    2. Ban idiot who made the post.

    3. ?????

    4. Profit!

Forgive me if this has already been talked about but I really cant be fucked reading all these posts.

One of the reasons the section was taken away was because this site was going to be linking up with Raven's developing fanfiction site, PC. He didn't want little kids from PC wandering in there and having a cry when their brains imploded.

I'm just wondering if he no longer cares? Or DLP will no longer be linked up with the site? Or what?

That's a good point, Syao. But what we were planning on doing is (I think) only have it visible to people who have an option in their profile checked that's something like "S&P subforum visible".

Stalicon: I'm pretty sure that fiction falls under the "anything goes" blanket.

If someone fucks up, I'm pretty sure the community would jump on them anyway.

The ones who would fuck up would be the noobs and if we have the post count privilege thingy weeding them out - in theory it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Of course then you have the people who try and outdo each other and that's what I'm worried about. Somebody trying to win the pissing contest, so to speak.

As for the number of votes required before we official propose this, I would say 50 yes votes.

That is a fair number of people that have actually bothered enough to vote, and if that is the number that actually voted, there will likely be many more that feel the same way, but are to lazy to actually do it.

    RE: George Zimmer post
That was a piece of crap and was a prime example of why NOT to re-create the S&P. Please, grow a brain, and think twice before you post.
    Thanks

If you count them all, we already have over 50 Yes votes.

Yeah, and the one who wins has his head bashed with the banstick.

Of course, I'd join only to shake my pristine head over the sick and perverted people who post the sick and perverse stuff :p

Btw, I found a thread some days ago with a link towards some Dobby/Hermione pics ... so I wonder why a special section is needed for this stuff if it is spread everywhere.
