Bought my tickets to see it today- An noon showing on the 18th!

At one of those luxury theaters with reclining chairs, wait service, and a full bar.

And the tickets only cost 4 more then a theater without all that shit would have cost! ($18 a person vs the $14 or so I'd pay at an AMC)

 

I'm sure they'll come up with a full technical explanation at some point, but it's probably something along the lines of Kylo Ren employing old holicron knowledge to create a patchwork saber of his own design with a bunch of shitty and/or mismatched parts (unstable synthetic crystals, shoddy blade emitter, no power insulator etc etc).

And thus the vents CAN actually be explained within the universe's fake science. If the crystal's plasma output is really high (magnifying the initial output from the power cell), it could have been overloading the power cell when arced backward. Not knowing how or missing the parts to properly modulate the strength of his blade, KR installs blow torch / plasma cutter vents sans containment field to siphon off some of the plasma. So the circuit is still complete, it's just... leaking. The whole idea will fall apart if at any point in the movies he uses the plasma vents to block a contained saber blade.

it looks good from the trailers, i believe it will be better then episode 1-3 i just wonder if Luke is like obi wan or like Yoda. as a mentor and if Kyro ren is Luke son or lleia kid or just some Darth Vader fan.

 

Possibly because of the efforts Disney has put into making sure the movie isn't spoiled... Assholes are, yet again, posting spoilers everywhere they possibly can. And it seems especially widespread this time, although that may just be me.

I ran into a spoiler in some game site on a forum thread with like 4 other comments total, although thankfully I realized very quickly and didn't read more than half a sentence.

So I'm going to be avoiding the internet for the next few days after that close call, I'd suggest that you all be careful, especially on reddit, as I've heard there are spoilers being posted everywhere.

If necessary, there is the Force-blocker and the Unspoiler chrome addons that are designed to block or put warnings up on web-pages with potential spoilers. I've not used either enough to test how well they work, but I saw them on reddit and figured it could come in handy.

 

Star Wars VII came out in Egypt today! Going to watch it now I'm so hyped! Hopefully, it won't turn out to be a disappointment.

 

I absolutely loved it. Only a couple things to nitpick on, but it was a blast. If they continue like this, I will be very satisfied.

 

A month ago I bought my fancy reserve tickets at a fancy imax theater with fancy reclining armchairs and other fanciful fancies. I bought them for Saturday night, as all the other shows at said fancysauce theater were sold out. I did it thinking I could easily wait two or three days to see it.
