I just saw your join date.

You have no clue what you're talking about.

    Sit down and shut up.

And who the fuck voted "No"?

Also: Shouldn't the Dobby/Hermione link have been deleted from the Forum by now?

Trust me man, what you see nowadays is TAME compared to what S&P was. One thing that was realy out there was a necrophiliac, beastality fisting fic. And really, that wasn't even the worst one, what you see today on the forum is hardly even able to be compared to the worst/best of the S&P

Also, about having more than 50 yes votes, I would think that some of those are likely people that voted both 'yes' and 'I laugh at those that say 'God no''

EDIT: Ok whoever neg-repped me for telling Zimmer to shut-up, first how on earth am I supposed to know that he is apparantly an alter-ego of a senior member here? I have not heard anything about that, and frankly I thought that his post, senior member or not, was pointless, especially when talking about a serious topic such as possible reviving the S&P.
So sorry about apparantly bashing a senior member, but I think that there are times when you can be funny, and times to be serious, I think that this thread is a time to be serious. And really, just because they are a senior member, I am sorry but that does not earn immunity in my book, respect yes. But if they post something like that, I see it as dumb, and will tell them so.

Sorry if that offends people, but that is just how I see it, if I am way out there, tell me, but I don't see it as unreasonable that in a topic like this to expect a certain level of maturity.

We could place Xiph0 incharge of S&P and when ever someone screws up they get banned and we get to rape Xiph0 with a cheese gratter. You could be sure he would take the job seriously. After all he put the idea forward so only deserves the chance to crash and burn if it does. :p

Xiph0, Chuck, and Giovanni should be the S/P mods.

And I'm not biased at all :)

    ^^ of course not ;)

but in reality, that actually is a good idea.

However, we should try not to get ahead of ourselves, does anyone even know if the admins are interested in this idea?

..I see no reason to add more mods simply for this and as of yet, the staff, to my knowledge, hasnt even bothered discussing it.

If, and I stress heavily that If, the staff bothers to reinstate S&P, I and the others, or a dedicated Admin (I would volunteer) would moderate it.

George Zimmer is an IRC meme, he beats the shit out of Darius from time to time.

Would you PM me the exact comment? As far as I'm concerned, you are a senior member.

I said "No" in the IRC before I started the thread and I still wouldn't want to.

And given how the backlash that Gio/Chuck got when they fucked up, I really wouldn't want to.
    They were pictures mate. Pictures.

Fics are fine. Don't like disgusting stuff then you avoided the section - which barely anyone actually did.

Guidelines are definitely needed, but that's already been said before. We relied on common sense last time and, unsurprisingly, as the world doesnt have much of said sense, it didnt work out that well.

I remember that goblin fanfiction smut piece was got torn to shreads. Yeah, it was gross, but that surprised me. I think for fanfiction, anything goes unless someone is just being stupid and posting Harry/Ginny.

Pictures like that raccoon thing, and I believe some chick posted child porn once, are just not needed or wanted.

Also, I remember a little while ago, someone in Mature said they wouldnt post something because it was bad, everyone got on his case to post it so he did, then everyone blasted him. What the fuck?

He gave in to a couple of idiots urging him to post something I'm pretty sure was illegal.

He got banned, no one blasted him.

As many have said before, I would rather have it invisible to non-members and new members. New members as in that thier post count has to be a certain count I guess.
I would not want the posts in the S&P section to be counted.

S&P should be invisible to non-members, NOT new members. The tick box in the USER CP is all that is needed. 80% of the time new members will have to know of S&P's existance that way.

The whole point of S&P is humour. That point of I cannot stress enough.

I support having Vash take control of the S&P section if it were to come back into existance. Vash is a worthy head of S&P more than any other person on this site and he does so with pride. I do think at least the 70 positive responces we've had so far really generally some up the majority of DLP's opinion.

A simple rule of thumb: No links, or posted images (or links to images.)

All words are A-Okay (if ANY words are taboo, then I gotta revoke my support for this).

All words are good, all images and links are a bad idea unless you're sure its A.) Not Porn B.) Not torture shots or anything like that C.) its appropriate. Now bring back S&P!!! :D

EDIT: Duke of Rothwood, bash anyone you fucking like. If its a senior member who is hiding using a pseudonym, then you can't be expected to know that. Frankly, I feel like if a Senior member (including me) says something stupid, then you should be able to bash away. No double standards for this sailor (Spinach does me good! ;) )

P.S. IF you weren't around for the glory days of S&P then SHUT THE FUCK UP!

You don't know what you're talking about. you think you know what DLP is, but you have NO idea until you understand one of its earliest, and most important forums (which helped mold and shape the culture of this whole community.)

Seriously. Shut yer FUCKIN' YAP!! (In the immortal words of Jackie Gleason, "To the moon, Alice!"

P.P.S. was my sailor reference earlier a little gay? In the Navy! We can sail the seven seas! In the Navy! ;) (Gotta love the Village people....Okay, THAT was gay.) :D

This whole one-mistake-and-you're-out thing seems kinda contra-productive. For something like S&P to work, posters must be able to completely unhinge themselves and let their dirty imagination fly freely. And they can hardly do that if there's constant fear of crossing some intangible border of 'common sense' and 'decency', a direct consequence of which is instant banage, without appeal.

I can see how some select group of posters could be completely in charge of maintaining S&P section; and punishment for them making a pedophilia/warez/beastility boo-boo could be temp. or perm. removal from that group.

Still, this would kinda kill the point of forum and move the whole thing more towards a static site...

    It's not intangible.

No pictures, no links to anything illegal by the laws of the U.S (where DLP is hosted). How simple is that?
Given how extremely illegal all three of those things are in the U.S, removal from the group simply wouldn't cut it.

Err.. how can you have S&P without pictures? I mean, words can't possibly be THAT sick & perverse to earn a whole closely guarded section of their own?

Uhm... the vast majority of the old S&P had absolutely no pictures (and the ones that were posted usually by and large were illegal and ended up in banning), we still managed to make some pretty sick stuff.

    Hmm... yeah I guess.

But, by the rules you're suggesting, Mad-eye's infamous Goblin-love story would be perfectly OK, while Bio would be banned for that picture of Kinsfire he had posted a hour ago, right? Not sure that criteria is the right one... not sure ANY criteria could work for S&P (other then US laws).

Bio's picture didn't display anything graphic. But it was quite possibly just as disturbing as a necrophiliac fisting image.

o_O How? When people put things like pics of people sticking their dicks in the mouths of dead raccoons, you tend to disavow any IQ of them and not care wtf their intention was. As stated several times, its not only disgusting, its illegal.

The only other person banned for S&P posted pedophilic gay art. So it was a drawing of Snape buggering Harry. That is still illegal.

Either way, it isnt up for discussion. No ammount of arguing will change that fact. Do like it? Leave.
