Well, I read one years ago about a version of Harry that traveled the multiverse so he could help the alternate Harrys to kill their universe's Voldemort. It included a few cliches like GryffindorSlytherinPeverell!Harry but, if I recall right, in a humorous way. Google didn't help at all so I hope someone knows about it, it must be pretty old by now.

Interesting premise, horrible use of clichés and bashing by one of the masters of said crafts.

 

I remember a HP fic where Hermione gets either hurt or petrified and harry carries around a bench from the great hall and smashes people like Malfoy because he's really pissed off about it. I cant remember much else about the fic but I think it was crack/parody.

 

Given where it is in my folder structure, I apparently downloaded the first three chapters, years ago, and never read it.

But its a timetravel story and not particular good (at least thats how I remember it).

Many times someone mentioned 'characters read the HP books' plotline in various threads, and I don't think I ever read such fic.

Is there anything recommendable of this sort? Something I can read, not die of rage, and check this category as read?

Personally, the only recommendation I can give with a clear conscience is "Don't."

EDIT: I'll elaborate--it's not that they are inherently rage inducing, just that it's a genre of stories I cannot conceive how a person could enjoy. Now, given how popular this type of story is evidently people do but I just don't know why. I tried reading a couple stories a while ago thinking I was missing something, but if I was, I still am. So my best recommendation is "No, as far as I know there's not anything in that genre that is good."

I mean, I could be wrong and there could be an awesome story like that. I just...haven't seen anything even close to resembling it, so I'd not recommend searching it out.

If that's what your looking for then go to fictionhunt.com and search "discovering the legend" by Rosedragonwitch it was probably the best in that series of fics. Unfortunately after the ff.net purge no one with any writing skill posts
them.

At one point a fic was recommended here called "Most Wanted: Peter Pettigrew" does anyone know of a similar fic floating around the internet?

 

Probably hp and friends, since I'd like something Harry centric, but I'll take anything not horrible to get the taste - and since everytime it's mentioned it's mentioned as worst thing ever, I'll guess I'll take what is.

So, yeah. I skimmed five books by the "RoseDragonWitch", and yeah, it was quite bad. I thought it'll be, you know, 'let's read it and improve our odds', not play-by-play with comically over-emotional adults, which actually increased the feeling of fanon-like hate of the weak moments of Harry.

as I mentioned, I thought it was just a cheap and easy way of delivering knowledge of future, not… bad drama of ooc adults.

As bad as that was it's still orders of magnitude better than the sister fandom which is the fanfiction characters read a fanfiction about themselves. Like I said that series was probably the best written of them all.
