You gotta admit Haraldas is a pretty original name.

A wrong-boy-who-lived story. Harry gets neglected by his parents due to the mistake Dumbles made. His brother Michael gets chosen by Dumbles as the boy who lived. Dumbles/Weasley/Granger and some Potter Bashing. Powerful!Harry. Pairing: Harry Potter/Daphne Greengrass.

    Who the hell is Dumbles?

Does that mean Ron, Hermione and Dumbledore are having a threesome?

It was unique 10 years ago I guess. Also, it does have the most original replacement name for Harry.

Harry said no when Hagrid came with his Hogwarts letter. He had no choice; it was his only option. He'd never made a worse decision in his life... Abuse

Found this on AFF.net. They are a treasure trove of bad summaries and bad fiction all around.

Jane not only picked her nose, but the Malfoys also witnessed her eating its contents; she used her sleeves in place of napkins; would belch loudly, especially at the dinner table; spilled food all over herself, the table, and the floor when she ate; frequently abandoned her cutlery altogether to pick at her meat and vegetables with her grimy fingers. My O.C. is not a Mary Sue.

Well...at least the OC isn't a Mary Sue?

I know I've mentioned this before, but why the hell is this in a "worst summaries" thread? Except for one missed conjunction, it's grammar and punctuation are excellent, tells me enough about the story and the main character that I can make a decision whether I want to read it or not (not, for me), and lets me know it's probably going to be a "Taming the Shrew" type story, with Malfoys in general and Draco in particular trying to be the tamer.

Maybe it belongs in a "Horrible Stories" thread, but not a "Worst Summaries" thread.

Is it really horrible if it's obviously hilariously bad by intent?

If the purpose is to be hilariously bad, then no, which is why I put maybe at the beginning of the sentence.

If everyone is so bent out of shape about bad stories not necessarily having badly written summaries. I would say create a new thread called "Terrible Story Ideas".

Naa, no story idea is actually bad, it's the execution or triteness of it being redone a thousand times.

Why me I'm not the one complaining about the summaries being posted?

Cleaning it up a bit: H. D. Prewett is the last of the immortals, and is ready to pass on, but for his lack of successor. But when an old friend calls in a favor, Old Prewett finds both a reason for living and an apprentice, all in one.

That's not a /good/ story, and I haven't really taken the time to try to make it especially appealing, but it has the foundations of one, especially if divorced from Harry Potter entirely.

The thing is that a bad story, if taken to enough of an extreme, can become good: male pregnancy, for example, is ridiculous, but if a serious author were to consider the apparent ability for magical men to have literal manchildren in, say, a cultural/political/feminist sense, it could be a fascinating look at an alien society through a unique lens, ala Samuel Delaney's Stars In My Pocket Like Grains of Sand. There are almost no bad stories; merely bad lenses to view them through and poor authors.
