I was wondering, in fantasy novels, there are always a bunch of different magical races that usually make humans look lame. If you could choose your race, what would it be? And where would the race you choose come from, a Dwarf from LOTR or Eragon etc? And explain why, doesn't have to be from fantasy novels, could come from Star Wars or another film/book/comic.

 

I think it's probably pretty obvious... but I would definately be a smurf.

Smurfs are easily the greatest creatures know to man. They have kickass blue skin and live in mushroom houses and do nothing all day long. And have you ever seen a sad smurf? No, they rock.

 

I would be God.

EDIT: Does that count as a race? I guess not...

OK, I'll be an angel instead. Wheeeee....wings!

 

I would be Dracula -- not a vampire... Dracula. He's one of a kind.

If anyone knows about the Victorian Era repressed sexuality/class warfare that his character symbolizes they'd understand why

Plus I could slip into BMM's house in the dead of night and "bite" his whole smurfamily.

 

I would be a dragon from The Forgotten Realms. For one thing I would be a freaking dragon. Another is that they are more intelligent and capable of more than the standard slash and burn. Lastly because they live independently of each other and of any god, in some cases they are viewed as like a god.

 

Probably a Valar from Lord of the Rings (or a Maiar if push comes to shove) or if I can't pick a Godlike creature I'd have to be a werewolf (not changing at will because it takes from the mystique).

Blood Elf sounds cool, being immortal is a factor, if you are a fantasy race, at least have some magic or boni on your side.

And I shall crush the Blue Communist Gnomes (also known as Smurfs) mwahahahaha!

 

I would be a Master Vampire like from the Laurell K Hamilton, simply because after a century or so they are kick ass powerful, and they get more powerful with every day they age.

 

I would either be a vampire or an elf (ala Lord of the Rings). Living forever holds a strong appeal to me...but I think I might rather just live forever than have to drink people's blood to do it.

 

Either a Fey'ri (elves hate them worse than Drow), Fire Genasi (Famib baby!), or a gnome from Dragonlance (I like to tinker, and having one Lifequest from birth would make things easier).

 

I'd be a lich. Or preferably the Lich king from Warcrraft after he merged with Arthas. Only down side is the screwed up body.

 

Ok guys, I know smurfs are fun to pick on... but you seriously don't know what you're messing with! It's a little known fact that smurfs are the power behind God. Who do you think made all of those miracles happen? That's right, smurfs.

And BMM: You do realize that Smurfs are gay right? Why else is there only one female?

Are you kidding me. You are seriously kidding me right. There is a huge flaw in that. In many fantasy books like R.A salvatore books they make human more than what they are. Humans are dangerous thats why other races such as elves or whatever makes the human looks lame because they want to feel superior. Humans are (in my opinion) the most dangerous beings in the fantasy world.

While other races or Dwarves have atleast one attrebute that defines them, humans on the other hand are everything and nothing.

for example ie. Elves are long lived but they remember the bad shit that happened to them in the past of hundreds of years ago while humans on the other hand lives each day anew and not of the past. And whats more, all the sub race comes from a human and almost nothing else. dragon/human, vampire/human etc, etc....

On the side note of any race i would be a human. meh...thats the only thing i can think of.
