Truthfully? Reading a H/G fic about eight years ago and one of the Author's Notes was a rant about DLP and how his fic was being treated. Some short Google-fu and a stopover at Digital Light Projectors and I ended up here.

 

Bumped into it back in 2007. I don't remember how or why. Forgot all about it till 2010, and then just joined on impulse wanting to get some shit stories reviewed.

 

I got here after reading nonjon's fanfics I guess. Though the name Dark Lord Potter stymied me for some time since I had no interest in Dark Harry fanfics.

 

Beyond the vast wastelands of tripe.

Looking for dark!Harry and Harry/Daphne. Read Jeconais's story in spring of 07 and then scoured ffnet for Harry/Slytherin. I remember The Machine and stories even worse.

Google eventually stumbled into DLP. Spent summer of 07 lurking through DLP. In the fall, I have memories of some forums becoming members only. Joined. Agonized over intro forum, posted, only fucked up a little bit.

 

I was a big fan of The Dark Lord Nedved's Fics back in the day (on harrypotterfanfiction.com). Searching for the sequels or reviews or something I stumbled upon DLP and was surprised that people on the Internet could be so rude to each other.

I was so innocent. DLP as ruined me.

 

I found DLP several years before I created my account, stumbling across Methene's Harry/Fleur Community thread while looking for - you guessed it - Harry/Fleur fics. I didn't think much and left. This happened again later.

On the third time it happened, I checked the forum out. I lurked for a couple years before joining.

 

Read some story that mentioned DLP. Pretty sure it was in a positive light. To long ago to remember more.

 

Google iirc. It was several years before I even created my account, I'd gone through the phases of reading Indy!Harry, OtherHouse!Harry and I was looking for Dark!Harry. Began lurking here and I haven't looked back.

 

I believe I found TFF and decided to go looking for other forums, via Google, with Harry Potter fanfiction.

Edit: Nope, I found TFF later, then I guess I dunno how I found it.

 

Reddit. /r/hpfanfiction talks about DLP occasionally - most of the time in a disparaging light.

 

No fucking clue. Probably found an author that recced DLP, or through google. I was into Dark!Harry fics for a long time.

 

Found it while looking for good fics on ffnet during late 2013. I was browsing through the communities and naturally the community with the largest follower count drew me in.

 

I ran a search for the best dark Harry fanfiction and was directed to the '06 & '07 DLP awards.

 

I saw someone talking about it on AlternateHistory.com

 

I wrote some shitty story when I was thirteen, and someone put it up for review in the Libary. I got an anonymous review with the link to the thread - a bunch of people arguing over whether it was any good or not. Needless to say, I was traumatised. This was the first thing I'd ever tried to write and a bunch of bastards were shitting all over it.

I immediately swore revenge. I vowed to infiltrate their hideout, gain a position of trust, and wipe them all out from the inside.

Day 2,497 - They still do not suspect a thing... :twisted:

 

Reddit... pretty sure on reddit. /r/hpfanfiction. Dont know the thread of course but DLP gets metions a few times over there.

 

Googled "Dresden Files Discussion" in 2009.

Joined the same day.

Learned how to properly format posts the following day.

 

MoR was the first ever fanfic I read (it was linked on some other forum I frequented), and the author mentioned DLP in authors note. Later I started writing on my own, and DLP was the best discussion forum there is in the fandom, even though the tone was really not to my taste.

 

I found out about it either through a comment in a story or an author's profile. I don't really remember which as I think DLP had only been around a year or so back then. It was...a much different site in those days. That was my first introduction to the site.

I ended up coming back to this site and joining because someone messaged me on ff.net saying that I'd probably fit in here after reading something I wrote. I don't remember who it was though.
