This is such an awesome tool, is it possible to add more 'categories'? I don't know how much extra work it takes, so if it requires more than minimal adding of a category from FFN - it's probably not worth your time, but I'd love to use this with Smallville , Cruel Intentions etc.

However amazing work, this combined with google's FFN search tools really makes life so much easier when searching for fics!

I'm just curious as to whether you are going to change the search so that it can search for up to four characters since they've recently added the option, or are you going to wait and see if they get rid of it in a couple of weeks time because it causes too much hassle?

Well... shit. They changed their feed format, so the updates are no longer working.

I'd been working sporadically on a re-write with lots of new goodies, but it looks like I'll have to accelerate those plans some.

Until then, it looks like FFFN is stuck with stale data. :(

I just wanted to tell you, that Fanfiction.net now includes a limited form of this.

You can filter up to two characters and one genre in your search.

And I use it every single time to eliminate the characters Snape & Draco or Draco and Lucius. Its like Christmas came early. I hardly find the HP/DM, etc slash fics. I laugh evilly each time I do it. If only they gave me the choice to eliminate as many characters and genera's as I want, it'd be fantastic.

This doesn't seem to be around anymore. I think I remember either an updated version or an alternative version somewhere, anyone got a link? Trying to do some specific fic searching.

Our own Raven made Scryer, which might be what you're thinking of.

Awesome, but not what I'm thinking of since I was hoping to search for Naruto fics.

But thanks for the reminder of Scryer.

    The current incarnation is scryer.darklordpotter.net

Edit: Ha, just saw that I was the last person to answer the questíon in this thread. But yes, fffn is no longer developed and should probably have the sticky removed.

I wish FFN had this! I feel like a lot of search functions are absolute garbage.

Well see, DLP has it. Since @LordRavenclaw is the godly manbeast who made it. FFN staff only wish they had half of his talent.

One thing that FFN does well is their filters. It makes finding stories that suit your taste easier. Maybe something like that can be applied to this website.

    Thank you very much! :)

I had totally forgotten about Scryer, it makes it less of a pain in the ass to search through DLP, though there is definitely room for improvement. So I think it's pretty clear what I voted for.

Also, I have a questions that seems to fit here:
I seem to recall that there was a page or thread, in which all of the available stories on DLP were sorted into categories and ratings, with quick links and all.

Is that still around? I can't find it anymore and it also helped with navigating the site. If not, maybe restarting it and making it easier to find might be a good idea.

    Well, that's embarassing.

I'm still new on DLP, but I don't know how I overlooked that totally obvious shortcut...right in the navigation bar...*cough*

    Thank you very much!
