Any of you guys watch HSC XII? Really awesome again and imo definately one of the better ones. If you only have time to view one SC2 tournament, or have never watched one, go and watch this one!

 

If you only have time to watch one tournament, Homestory Cup would probably not be a good introduction, actually. It's kind of made for people who are used to and have been involved in the scene for a while. Very casual to the point of disrespect (between friends) casting. It's pro players casting, so when they're talking about the game and you haven't watched much everything can go right over your head.

It's a fun as hell tournament, but maybe not for beginners.

MMA's last tournament.. Jesus, what a legend. Triple Crown winner, a major tournament title in every region, and a major title in every single expansion of the game. I'm going to miss him.

Nation Wars is going to be excellent. The group stages were nice, though I'm really sad about Norway dropping out. Snute. :C

I feel like Nation Wars jumped the gun on scheduling a little bit, to be honest. It happened so incredibly soon after the game launched that no one had a chance to really get decent at the game before they were thrown against each other.

Serral was a boss, though.

 

Just to clarify my point, I think that is the best tournament to just enjoy. I can watch 12+ hours of HSC without getting bored, because they are really miying it up in terms of casters and non-game entertainment. In any of the "serious" tournaments I need a break after ~2 hours or find myself half-listening.
In general I would say that you need some basic knowledge level of the game to understand/ follow a game regardless of the tournament, its casters and their explaination (Unit counters, Economy, etc.).

Also really sad with MMA retirement, so many great moments with him

God damn, France is like the prime example of what I mean whenever I try to talk up grass roots local scene promotion. Creating the infrastructure really does help create better players.

TLO vs Snute for Dreamhack just concluded, went up to 5 games of ZvZ.

Game 5 has to be the silliest ZvZ I have ever seen in my life. The casters were insane and hilarious, too. Look it up later in VoDs or youtube.
