Town!Newcomb would know what the right play is, with two claims.

He tried to push the lynch because he knew it was 2 towns and just one town trying to lay cover for the real priest.

Either he gets the fake one to rescind or he forces the biggest confusion within town, which is a big win for him.


Also the way he scumread me coming into the game, pretty sure he would not feel that sure about his reads as town, but he knows half of the people can't read me for shit anyway, which makes me a good possible misslynch for him.

Also Newcombs 2 toplynches are confirmed town, which looks really bad on him.

by the way, in case ppl are interested why i did rescind just now.

I got some reactions and reads which are hopefully useful for us going forward, but i will go to sleep pretty soon so i would either rescind now or not at all (rescinding in 8-10 hours doesnt give town enough time to find the right targets).

Holding the claim in the night would fuck town completly IF mafia dare to shoot between us, because town will never know what happens and even if they kill me and rob gives a check, they are likely to get the misslynch on him through.
If they leave us both alone the cc is perfect, but i was not willing to risk ruining the whole game for it.

 

I am revealing no new information by stating all this as Jan already knows everything I just said so spelling it out clearly clarifies instead of obfuscates. My adrenaline rush is wearing off so I am now getting tired.

You should go read WH12 on FS. I'll dig up the quote if it becomes a thing. I think the right play with a claim and a CC is to lynch the scummier of the two and go from there.

I tried to push the lynch because Slippery is demonstrably scummy. I'm holding out hope Kai wasn't just joking.

The way I scumread you coming into the game was a weak as fuck meta read with a caveat that I'm bad at reading you. That doesn't exactly jive with the "me setting you up for a mislynch" narrative.

And how exactly does that read mesh with me being sure about my reads? Go back and read my reads post. That is pure fire from the hip gut reads after replacing in and re-reading jack shit.

If Slip's the Priest, then fine, whatever, he was playing scummy. I'll own that one. Calling yourself confirmed town is like, noooot at all true though.

 

I am glad to be hopefully right this game on at least some of my reads.

Now with the cop out, i assume he is the real one.

If we lynch a scum today, then he just dies in the night and we know we hit a scum. (or they meta it, which would be risky)

If we hit a town today, then he will always be saved in the night, which means we get a confirmed check that night, and even if we lynch a scum tomorrow we will get another check the next night (that check might be tempered with depending on how bad we are).

Pushing the lynch between me and rob is good for a scum agenda.
If someone brings logic you can say ok we won't and still look ok, if noone opposes your bullshit, then you basically win the game on d1 as scum.

Reading me scummy in general is not bad for your scum agenda, because, while a few people townread me, i also had several paranoia reads on me (+ citrus thought i was scummy).
There is no downside for your read as either alignment.
You probing and pushing paranoia is good for your scum agenda.

My reaction to the claim was that I believed you, because it looked like you were trying to bait the claim out of him, and because Slip's independently scummy. Independently scummy + counterclaim = slam dunk lynch. I give literally zero fucks for mechanics over behavior. Lynching outside two claims still makes no sense to me. We can argue mechanics after the game if you want, but regardless of alignment, if you try to mislynch me over mechanics, then sit. down. I am not required to agree with your definition of optimal play.

Slippery-
Do take into consideration that my responses were super fast and basically all day anytime- not really a lot of time for coaching.

Cobalt seems less scummy because he backed down, I would think scum would push harder to distract/ seem townier/ whatever else.

Citrus- Has similar reads to mine, but that seems unique so far in the game (before the claiming stuff happened) so I wonder what that means.

Snowvon- I just can’t seem to quite read him. I’ll reread tomorrow.
