Deadpool - Red Band Trailer 1.

Deadpool - Red Band Trailer 2.

First reviews are in and apparently it's not good.

    It's f*cking amazing.

Oh wait, it's R rated, isn't it? In that case I should write that the film is fucking amazing. Much better.

Anyway, just a week to go before we can judge it for ourselves. One thing I can say for sure is that Deadpool's marketing team should get an Oscar or something like that for its campaign.

I mean, stuff like this is just inspired:

    Touch Yourself Tonight.

Touch Yourself Tonight: Just for Her.

    Australia Day Message From Deadpool.

    Deadpool - Manchester United Dream.

I'm seeing it in... 69 hours from this post. I'll let you all know how it is. Good way for my week to go after the hell that was last week.

I had no idea Deadpool was dropping so fast. For some reason I was convinced it would be a summer thing, in between all the other superhero stuff.

All the better. Friday can't come soon enough.

I don't know when I'll be able to see it, but I'm interested.

I just hope they understood Deadpool uses the humor and insanity to cover up his self-loathing, not just to be a meme factory.

    So.

It was worth the wait, it was everything I wanted and more. At one point I laughed so hard I cried.

Obviously it isn't a perfect port from the comics, but then I understand the decisions they made for why certain things were changed. Instead of getting Wolverine's healing factor, it was just a 'serum that activates latent mutant potential when subjected to stress' e.g torture.

The chemistry between Ryan and Morena was amazing.

    Best opening credits. Ever.

All the fourth wall breaking, just sheer variety was awesome.

Ryan Reynolds was born to play deadpool. He even makes parts of Blade Trinity watchable.

Oh and MB can't stop being hot. How long ago was firefly? Damn

Saw it yesterday. Going again today. Loved it - perfect blend of action/comedy/complete disregard for sanity. I think they nailed the absurdity of Deadpool, and whoever the writer's were - going to look that up - should be rewarded for a genuinely funny piece of work.

Highlights for me... the entire bridge scene, but particularly when Deadpool punches Collusus and breaks his hands. That T-Rex bit was hilarious. As was the Hugh Jackman mask at the end.

The metahumor was spot on in this film. I loved the reference of Wolverine: Origins.

My favourite line was "McAvoy or Stewart?", and I think the movie overall handled the fourth wall breakage very well. It's something that has the potential to become overused very quickly, but they kept it toned down while not removing it entirely. Plus there's also a real movie beneath all of the jokes. The ending bit with his mask(s) showed that, as even after the photo joke there was a moment where we saw the self-loathing, scared, human side of Wade Wilson, who was afraid to finally show Vanessa his true face. And yeah, who doesn't love a happy ending?

i wasnt sure how much i'd like what i saw as the "shoe-horning in" of the x-men but it was done extremely well. lampshade hanging and all

edit: ESPECIALLY the lampshade hanging. "you've got such a big mansion here...."

When he punches colossus in the dick, "oh your poor wife."
Describing the sexual acts he did to wolverine to get a movie.
Also speculating there are only two xmen in the movie because they couldn't afford any more.

Oh and my favorite 4th wall break in a flashback of a 4th wall break. "That's like... 16 walls."

I kept on cringing when they pronounced IKEA items. Otherwise it was great.

Got my girlfriend to agree to go see it with me when I showed her the romantic trailer. Best advertising campaign ever.

It was just as good as I'd expected, maybe even better. Bringing in the X-men was just a brilliant idea. Fuuuck I need to go watch it again.
