No one anyone would remember unless they did a re-read, I expect.

So far as I know this is the only time in the entire story he is mentioned, and it's a throw away comment in Chapter 2:

The more and more I reread this story, the more I see Zorian’s interactions with girls as some type of dating game (If only he were interested). You got:

Taiven: the outgoing, airheaded, athletic girl, who doesn’t think before she speaks (also Zorian’s previous crush, who unknowingly rejected him)
    Akoja: the tsundere class representative
Tinami: the shy classmate, who’s secretly an otaku
Raynie: the class idol with a tragic past
And now Kopriva: the daughter of a gang family, who everyone’s afraid to get close to, and who’s secretly lonely and looking for friends

    Is it just me?

I think you're reading too much into the fact that for once an author has made an effort to include a wide variety of interesting and unique female characters among his cast.

Basically. He's met and gotten close to a decent variety of male characters as well.

I do feel the story feels more like a game/anime than a serious book. But that's most likely just the author's background. It doesn't really detract from the enjoyment, but it was very obvious to me as I was reading through it.

On that note, I read this a while back and would probably give it a 3.5/5, rounded up to 4 for the purposes of rating the thread.

Guilty pleasure level of fiction. Still pleasure, though.

Nope, I think the story has that kind of feeling to it too.
There are a whole bunch of things that give the story a really gamey+animeish feel to it.

Has a map (official or fan made) ever been released? I'm starting to re-read MoL and would really like a map of Cyoria and it's surrounding lands.

There is a link on the authors profil page to a google document with a bunch of links. Among those are a few maps.

Good chapter. Interesting to finally hear more about Kael and Kana - they seem more relatable after this chapter.

I have to say, this is by far one of the most enjoyable chapters I've read by far, recently. Usually the chapters have very little progression and you have to link them together for them to not leave you wanting for more. Overall, this chapter had a lot of characterization for various characters, as well as setting things up for the next couple of chapters. We got some world building, and had some things clarified. Overall, I'm really hyped for what's to come. Great chapter.

Interesting. Not only is Xvim an archmage, but also that he thinks it's realistic for Zorian to seek to become one himself.

Could someone refresh my memory whether the concept of archmages was mentioned earlier, probably in passing since I don't remember it, or is it something new? Still, it's something that could be an unofficial endgame for his magical development within the loop.

Anyway, it's a really nice chapter that has pretty much everything you could want from one. Some worldbuilding information, setting up another level of learning for the main hero when he managed to achieve his old goals and meaningful interactions with a character that was sidelined for some time.

This chapter reminds me of Harry Potter and the Boy Who Lived... I wonder why Tinami is actually asking about Zorian's ancestry.

The term has been mentioned thrice.

Its been mentioned before. The first time when Zorian considered Zach's ability in school.

Great chapter overall. More Xvim is always a plus.

Something felt off with the whole "Tinami asks Zorian about his family history". Not that it wasn't true, but i felt like there was an underlying motive to it.

Someone is looking for a father of her children? I mean, depending on how they link magical ability with someone's family, it could be that even simply being Daimen's brother means you're quite a catch based simply by a potential you have in your blood and could gain more points depending on your ancestry.

That's said, it's just a wild speculation since up to this point nothing suggested anyone cares about blood-relations beyond someone's social standing.

I was thinking the same thing. Tinami's looking for a marriage match. The research on Zorian's family tree applies equally well to Fortov and Daimen, of course.

While the research is probably because Tinami's interested in Zorian, it wouldn't surprise me if it was for Daimen instead. He's a legit good catch, and the full package of social skills, intellect, and renowned mage. Tinami could do a lot worse.

So I'm a bit late to reading this story - I picked it up a while ago and never left a proper review. The story was at chapter 48 when I read it from start to finish.

The short of it: It's good, fun, and rather interesting. It's really enjoyable having our knowledge of the world slowly built up as the protagonist learns more and more about the world he lives in, and doubly enjoyable to watch the mystery of the circumstances around the time loop slowly unfold.

I had my misgivings at first about Zorian's character - it was actually a bit of a struggle for me to get past the first few chapters because the main character was a bit of an unlikable prick. But Kurmaic's done a great job of developing the whole cast into interesting and relatable people, and it feels good to see Zorian develop along with his abilities and knowledge.

I have some slight nitpicks with the story, but nothing that impacts enjoyment: the unwieldy names, for one. This seems to be a fantasy genre hallmark, but it's a detail I found frustrating when I first picked the story up.

The author frequently does a lot of telling as opposed to showing - but given the nature of the story and the theme of learning, that actually may be more of a blessing than a curse. Still, there are definitely times I've felt that a whole lot could be condensed: the actual defining moments of action are unfortunately few and far between, and the pacing is slow.

There are some fantastic ideas throughout the story - like the Aranea, and Zach, and Zorian's role in relation to the whole thing. The time loop story is pulled off really well - it's the kind of story that sucks you in and makes you neglect the rest of your life until you've finished reading.

    5/5

I've had that feeling from the start. In fact, I always thought that was the style the author was intentionally going for.

All the female characters fit the typical anime/VN style character archetypes pretty well. To add to your list, Kirielle is the stereotypical hyper imouto character.

Given that this is a time loop story, it actually works pretty well. VNs are usually more about character exploration than character development or relationship building. Given none of the character apart from Zorian can really "develop", it's about Zorian exploring a bit about them and their lives. Focusing on a too small a cast would get boring, since everything (including relationships, knowledge and development) reset each loop.
