Well... I can't really say anymore to that except that I'm going to pretend the Clone Wars don't exist and that the 7 Star Wars movies are the end all and be all of canon events.

Really? I was under the impression that Leland Chee nixed it because of the inconsistencies with Revenge of the Sith.

Eh... Clone Wars is actually pretty entertaining storywise, far more so than the prequels. The more childish aspects are mostly contained in the filler episodes and are thus entirely skippable.

Also, the show makes the Darth Jar Jar theory infinitely more plausible hilarious.

I don't know if that guy even has a say anymore (I wouldn't miss him if not). There's a "Lucasfilm Story Group" now, I think.

The only inconsistencies I'm aware of with RotS is that Anakin's character really degraded from TCW to the movie.

He only fought Sidious once as far as I know, and he got his ass handed to him. Sheev only kept him alive to torture him.

I'm not fully caught up on Rebels so I'm not sure what his deal is there yet.

In the show only once (the fight with him and his bro - arguably the best lightsaber duel in the entire continuity). Again in the comics, although it's a joint battle with Talzin, Grievous, and Sidious.

Barring someone on Yoda, Grandmaster Luke, or perhaps Windu...no one should be able to take on Palpatine. He is canonically the strongest Sith to ever live.

Was he? Vader took him out so doesn't that make him the strongest? And Palpatine won most of his battles by stabbing people in the back.

I think Pasta meant strongest in the Dark Side, not necessarily strongest as in Hulk.

I'm fairly certain that Vader was supposed to be stronger in terms of power given that he's Force Jesus gone bad. Sidious just had more dark side knowledge.

Maul was also supposed to be strong, but in the fight I mentioned you can see that he and his brother are basically just Palp's playthings.

It's too bad we couldn't have gotten that Sidious in RotS instead of this.

Considering it took Obi Wan and Qui Gonn to take Maul down you have to imagine he's pretty powerful. I've always imagined Qui to be more or less an equal of Yoda in terms of force sensitivity seeing as he was able to y'know go full goosebumps.

A note on Rian Johnson: beyond Looper he also directed a few episodes of Breaking Bad, including Ozymandias. I'm really looking forward to what he does with Episode VIII

^Brick was pretty awesome too, IIRC. As much as I enjoyed TFA, I think Johnson will do a much more interesting job than Abrams.

Might as well use this thread for Rogue One too. They say tomorrow we're getting a trailer and put out this little teaser for it. Kind of useless, but cool new stormtroopers at least.

Looks cool but I feel like Disney really dropped the ball with this one. Despite the newness of the movies I feel like this is almost a copy paste of the original movies 4-6.

A Death Star what 6.0 really? :facepalm

Well technically it's Death Star 1.0. It's set before episode 4, after all.

Wait what...? This will be episode 8 that's coming out with a new Death Star so that's definitely not 1.0.

No? Rogue one is about the rebel task force that steals the original death star plans and gives them to Leia.
