I just came back from watching the movie. I sort of get why a lot of people were dissatisfied, but I disagree. I liked it. Perhaps not loved it, but I loved most of what it did, how it did it, and a few scenes in particular.

It's a great setup film. Arguably a bit too much setup, but I believe they got away with it. Barely. The part where they showed videos of Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg were just a bit too much, I feel. Too heavy-handed.

I like how they made Batman, having already been a figure in Gotham for over 20 years and having already gone past most of his milestones (Joker, Robin, etc). Affleck was, as stated, spectacular.

I loved what they did with Wonder Woman. Like most, I was wary when I heard Gadot was cast, but she definitely delivered. The scene where she pounces at Doomsday was all sorts of amazing, and my second favorite part of the movie.

The Flash time-travel sequence was my favorite part of the movie. So many things, so many references for fans to pick up on. I loved every second of it.

I hated Lois, just as in Man of Steel. I feel the part of Lois was completely miscast, and (just as in MoS) I hated what they did with her character.

Lex was okay. Kinda meh, but I don't mind them going a bit off the rails with his character.

Usage of Kryptonite and Doomsday were meh to bad. Mostly leaning towards bad. I'd be bad about it but I'm not, because they resulted in some spectacular stuff and scenes. Kryptonite gave us many awesome Batman scenes, and Doomsday gave us the Batman-Superman-WW in battle at the same time, so I can forgive the butchering of the ... character?

It was a good film, good setup for more to come, and presented some great things and scenes. The way they set up Batman and Wonder Woman was direct, to the point, but felt meaningful (despite the disparity of Batman stuff to WW stuff).

The fight scenes were good. Seeing Batman kick goon ass never gets old, and both the major fights (Batman v Superman and Founders v Doomsday) were intense, filled with comic nods, and great to watch.

    Money well spent, imo.

Just saw it. Too much action too little plot.

Plus they didn't actually introduce Wonder women. It is becoming a pet peeve of mine at this rate.

That's actually one of the few saving graces of this film. WW has a big role, and her past is hinted at with the photo, but we don't get a long explanation of who she is and where she comes from, and that's a large part of the reason why she works. In comparison, the intros to the rest of the JL were hackneyed af and they weren't even in the movie.

It's not like they glossed over WW's presence in the film, they just left her actual origins mysterious. They've hinted at plenty, especially with her line when facing down Doomsday.

Just came back from seeing it. It wasn't incredible, not by any stretch of the word, but for me it wasn't nearly as bad as the incoming reviews seemed it suggest. It was... good - money well spent. I'm too tired to leave a proper review, so I'll do a cliffnotes version until I can do a proper one after a good night's sleep.

THE GOOD: Nearly everything good about the movie came from Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman (she rocks!) and Batfleck (especially the fight scenes...yes-yes-YES!), setup for the standalone character movies and continued universe, the easter eggs (quick question - I'm not super-duper familiar with the Flash mythos - was that scene a reference to the Flashpoint Paradox?)

THE BAD: Plotting and pacing (too much jammed in too short a time frame), the continued grimdark world portrayal, disjointed narrative, Jesse Eisenberg's reimagining of Lex Luthor hit almost all the wrong notes (though there were a few flashes here and there and at the end that keep the ember of hope alive that he will be better)

THE UNCERTAIN: Henry Cavill as Superman. On one hand I think he's the best we've had since Reeves, he fits the character so well, especially in a physical sense, but characterization-wise I'm still not sure... I guess the future movies will decide, Doomsday (???).

VERDICT: I feel it was money well-spent at the end. Tons of fun moments, excellent action. If you're still on the fence I'd say go see it - it's pretty good, but don't expect to get your panties to get wet.

That actually makes me kinda sad because I thought Affleck did a pretty great job, honestly. Kind of like Ryan Reynolds in GL.

Ben Affleck, to me, has surpassed Bale in every way. His Bruce Wayne is witty, imposing when needed (this is more of a modern day Batman as opposed to the bumbling socialite that some comics portrayed him as) and most of all: tortured. Wen he saw certain moments in the film, his rage and torture was palpable.

His action scenes are amazing. Hands down the best Batman fight on screen. Loved that he actually used his brains and detective skills several times in the film.

On the subject of him killing: Snyder justified it as collateral damage rather than out and out murder. He is heavily based off of Miller's DKR who has killed several times in the comics. Like it was said earlier he is a 20 year old veteran who hasn't had much good in his life and, in the comics, it's been said without a Robin to keep him in check and fight back the darkness he becomes more of a demon.

The film as a whole just works. It has tried to cram the equivalent of Marvel's phase 1 into one movie as a set up for JL. And it just works. Some of the writing for Affleck is a bit off but more often than not it's perfect.

Affleck and Geoff Johns, an acclaimed comic book writer, are working together on something. If that is the solo Batman film then it'll be golden. Geoff and Affleck's writing paired with Affleck's direction and acting will be phenomenal. I'd go as far to say that it could be Oscar worthy depending on the angle they take.

All in all, I hoped for an amazing Batman and I got that. DC just has to fire off the solo Batman series and it'll be golden.

I believe that is the Flash using the speedforce to travel back in time to tell Bruce that Lois is the key to something to do with Superman. So I assume at one point Lois will either die and Supes will rage or it'll be to do with the ending of the movie and how it impacts the JL movie.

I just saw this. I liked Bale in Batman Begins but after that I really disliked him. I found his Bruce Wayne to be neither charming nor impressive and rather bland. His Batman too was also not good. I've commented on Batfleck's penchat for lethal action and defended it by reasoning of him being based on DKR Batman.

Bale's inaction towards Ra's is something that never sat with me. He hasn't been Batman for very long and is already allowing people to die. He isn't world weary or damaged enough for this to be in line with Bruce Wayne's code.

His voice was atrocious. His fight scenes lackluster. Batman is a beast when he is in the room. Normal thugs pose very little threat to him. He used very few detective skills and relied on Lucius Fox for everything. I hate that he retired after Dent died. Again, it's against his whole code. He lost Rachel, yes, but it's ridiculous that a woman he pined over died and he decided to pack it in.

I just found him to be so far removed from Batman that I consider The Dark Knight a great crime film rather than a great comic book film. The hyper realism of Nolan's universe just didn't sit well with me as a massive fan of the comic version of Batman.

Thinking on the future of Batman, my fingers are crossed that they'll bring in Tim Drake as Robin. Best time for him to appear on the big screen. Meanwhile you can have a teen titans movie with Nightwing.

Unfortunately, I believe they're more likely to bring in Damian because DC editorial is heavily pushing the character in the comics.

Damian is terrible for this version of Batman right now. Damian is darker than Brice when it comes to killing.

Tim sought Batman out because he believed Batman needed a Robin to prevent crossing the line.

The Joker killed Robin in this timeline. Doesn't look like this Bruce is eager for another trainee.

Edit: I forgot to mention in my earlier post, but the opening sequence was perfect in showing exactly how normal people would experience such a terrifying thing as a battle between kryptonians.

That's the whole premise of Tim Drakes origin. Convincing Bruce he needs a Robin. Bruce trains Tim much harsher than Jason.

Well, I went in expecting a total piece of shit action movie and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't all that awful. It just wasn't good. There was an interesting movie somewhere deep inside the two and a half hour clusterfuck of grimdark angst and meandering plotlines.

Thank you critics for suffiently lowering my hype.

i saw the movie yesterday, it was better then i thought it would be. I would of liked more wonder woman, and a bit more of the Justice League in it.

I have to agree that there are many flaws with this movie, the editing being one of the most glaring ones, but I'd be lying if I said I did not love this film.

Besides Eisenberg, everyone else felt on point. Affleck amazed me both as Bruce Wayne and Batman, besides the 'collateral damage' killing,; Gadot didn't have much screen time but had a cheering deserved moment on my theater; Alfred was just what I pictured from comics; Cavil was great. However, I would have loved to see a lighter side of Superman to contrast with Affleck's darkness. Had they shown more of him smiling as he saved people and the famous suicidal scene from Morrison's All Star Superman it would have been a hit.

The score was something I could see myself buying in the future. Did anyone else loved those opening credits? The subtle title on screen was great. As well as Affleck on "The Day Humanity was introduced to The Superman."

Love it or hate it, these are the two most recognized superheroes of all time appearing on the big screen together for the first time. I'd say it is definitely worth a watch.

Just got back from watching it.

I liked the idea of the plot, even if Lois seemed a bit naive in the very beginning and Lex setting up the fight between the two seemed a bit heavy handed..

The Martha bit was a bit expected tbh, when they kept focusing on that first scene and the gravestone.

When WW took the drive I was surprised as it didnt look like she saw him do anything previously, I thought it was gonna be Clark.

Alfred was pretty awesome, more than just a butler.

    That BatCave was massive.

The computer reveal scene both to Bruce about WW (wasnt bad), and then the scene with WW (felt over the top) sets up the next movie, even if a bit cheaply.

The final fight was pretty awesome, expected the Superman scene to happen, I liked how they didnt try to shoehorn Batman in the fight against Doomsday tho and somehow do much of anything, it was mostly WW and Supes.

This encapsulates my thoughts, I saw it opening night, I hated it, I'm still occasionally caught off guard by randomly remembering any of the 5+ scenes in the movie that had my best friend and I laughing really hard or just staring at each other out of complete disbelief.

    This movie is awful

Can't wait for Civil War, while I love DC Comics and animation (my main preferred medium) and the current Batgirl run is great, I think I'll be passing on the rest of the DC movies.

I really enjoyed it. The one weak point for me was that if I didn't have prior knowledge that Lex is supposed to be a genius I never would have believed that kid could orchestrate everything, and that's bad because without Lex there would be no movie. Just general animosity between Supes and Batman, no Doomsday either.
