I just had my best ADC game ever. Nearly 4k league games and this was far and away my favorite ADC game.



Soraka and I WRECKED Cait and Nami. The vast majority of my Qs were perfectly on point. At one point I even got a semi accidental off-screen kill on Nami (after poking her down) with a max-range Q that was being aimed at Cait. Soraka and I got along very well, it seemed as if we understood what each other was thinking even though we were both just randoms in a normal.

The Cait and Nami were totally great sports about it, too. Cait even honored me after game.

Then, totally without warning Soraka added me as a friend and then gifted me a mystery skin.

hextech crafting looks cool. Haven't opened by my first chest yet though
Does anyone know if the chest you can get from a friend's S-rank counts towards your 4 chests?

 

They do indeed count towards your 4 chests per month.

 

Hextech crafting is a great addition (never thought riot would allow people to aquire skins for free), being limited to one chest per champion per season is just bothersome.

 

Top tank Fizz is fucking hysterical with grasp of the undying. Saw a reddit post, tried it, never looked back. Free trades with zero counterplay.

 

I wasn't that impressed really, although I did try it with Fervor instead.

It didn't really feel any different than from before the Mastery changes other than the fact that you absolutely wreck the laning phase. It's like a poor substitute for the fact that your ult only amps magic damage now.

Maybe with Grasp you get some sustain over the later game fights, but it still feels wierd. It's true that you can still wreck the frontline and backline, but you can't just dive in and instantly kill the ADC like AP Fizz can. And then you're stuck in the middle of their team needing help from your teammates.

Is it cancer and unfun? Yes. Is it op? probably not.

 

I typically play it into huge hyper carries top, like Fiora or AD Renekton or Trynd - people who have to either go even or get fed to do well. Fizz top basically ensures they have a mediocre lane.

Instead of cancer, it's like the chemotherapy I use to cure cancer. Because if you've ever laned against the croc top, you'll agree there's not much counter play against him dashing all the way through minion wave, bursting you to half with empowered stun and auto, then healing through whatever you meager trade you try with with his Q.

Being able to troll pole away from that monkey fuck matchup is immensely satisfying.

 

Lamora, I'm trying to main Fiora this season, would you mind sharing your runes/talents? I'm divided between Fervor and Grasps, and also between Titanic and Ravenous Hydra.

 

Building tank on assassins and not being punished for it is all the rave now. Build a Titanic, Steraks and Maw and roll their faces with impunity to any sort of burst.

 

Yeah, AD champs/bruisers have all the advantage with itemization now.

Thankfully, I'm a sucky gold player who can just splitpush with Singed for wins. Noone knows how to deal with it in Gold. Not even my own team ....

I don't even play Sion and I want to buy it. Riot's really outdone themselves this time.

 

Tank Ekko top is brilliant. Sunfire, IBG and Spirit. I've loved the champ in the past, but this has been better than ever. Sure you sacrifice damage, but it's quite hard to kill you.

 

Against a heavy AP team, Ssumday substituted Abyssal for the sunfire vs. SKT and absolutely demolished face, leading to the first win for KT Rolster in a best of series against SK Telecom since the Arrows took champion summer. Ekko is apparently first pick worthy on blue side for both KT and SKT.

 

So how about that Taric rework?

All in all, I'm pleasantly surprised by the rework. You do a lot less damage and healing than old Taric, but you're way tankier and and have an insane amount of utility. His early game is also so much stronger that it boggles the mind.

Seriously, tower diving with that AoE Kayle ult is just dirty. Combined with his insanely increased tower killing power (his passive works on turrets now) you have a viable split push champion in him.

They kept his passive's auto attack for CDR mechanic, which was my favorite part of his kit. Sad to see it no longer scale well with CDR though. I feel they should reduce the insane mana cost of his heal, since it's integral to his spell weaving now.

Now that CDR is only really good instead of an absolutely mandatory early buy, Taric has a lot more options for early game itemization. Seen a lot of people going things like early Sunfire, but I'm wondering if an early Tear will be viable after the Mage Itemization changes (25% Mana Cost refunded on cast). The roughly 200 damage per auto gained from Muramana could make up for the damage lost in the rework, and more mana is usually a good thing on him.


Speaking of the Mage Update, that's also looking pretty crazy.

So what do you guys think about the new splashes? Some of them are better than before but imo the majority are worse

 

It looks like taric does more dmg and not less with his auto-attack swings after every ability lol.

 

Nah, the loss of damage on W, much less frequent damage on E and no AD from ultimate (not to mention no burst from it anymore) all add up to a fair bit less damage, even after factoring in the attack speed on passive.

The benefits far outweigh the costs, but it's still something to note.

 

Just going to throw this in here.

Most of the new splash arts aren't permanent, they're so the splash arts are consistent across all regions, allowing them to streamline updates and asset management across the globe. I sincerely doubt they'll stay as they are.
