    Before last sunday I'd never played a game of Civ either. Anyone can come along, just be in the #civgame room on IRC at 6pm GMT, and give your skype/steam names.

    You do need the expansions though (BNW and G&Ks), as I learned the first time I tried to join.

    There's a mod out there somewhere that permanently locks everyone at war with everyone. I highly recommend.
