When he's in the game, I understand that he's contributing, but I never really feel it. His turret is so easy to deal with compared to other defensive strategies. Maybe it's just the heroes I usually play as.

When the Hanzo doesn't run as soon as he's wrecked your suit, you know he's pretty new to the situation.

You're aware Torb's armour packs add 75 armour to each character, right? And his primary / secondary fire are lethal too.

You need to find a good position for your turret and don't worry if it dies. Anyone that dives it to kill it should be killed by you or your teammates in turn.

Just position it to avoid snipers.

I have to be the one person in this universe who doesn't like Overwatch that much^^. Most of that stems from the fact that the whole static hero-shooter mechanic is not really my thing but I also dislike the whole graphic design, far too cartoonish for my tastes.

I know what he does, at least as much as anyone can without playing him. I've just never been in the position where a Torb on either team couldn't switch to another class and still be just as effective. And I've seen quite a few be dead weight by forgetting that they need the team to protect their turret.

Torbjorn is really hit or miss.

I've seen way more terrible Torbjorn players than good ones. More often than not he gets picked right at the beginning and then the player changes to something else within the first few minutes. I've seen him be amazing, but it's a rare occurrence.

Decent Torbjorn players drop their turret and then go off and play with their team, dropping packs, getting kills, and letting the turret do supplementary damage from hidden nooks, saving serious defense of their turret for the end/overtime. Bad Torbjorn players (the majority of them) drop their turret and then spend the next 15 minutes banging on it with their hammer.

I've said "We need a Tracer/Winston/Widow/etc." At no point have I ever said, "We really need a Torbjorn." If it came down to it, I'd much rather have an extra Soldier than a Torbjorn.

All I'm reading here is 'People don't know how to play Torbjorn, so he's bad.'

    Can't argue with that logic.

I see great torbjorn players all the time.

Theyre always on the other team.

    Basically this.

Eventually got fed up and decided to give him a shot. Went pretty well, can only imagine what he'd be able to do if I actually learned how to play him.

The turret is a menace, but the shotgun is just as dangerous and the shields often stack up to more supporting numbers than actual supports.

yeah as a Torbjorn you are supposed to drop turret in some surprising place and then go and support rest of the team with shields and and do actually some shooting yourself :p (also while you defending try to work with synergy with your turret rather than letting it do all the hard work).

here is nice video showing something like that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HZzeNNcEvQ

lol, the short is dropping in 2 hours. I'll not be surprised if he's right, but that's kinda easy to say when you already know the backstory :p

I'm hoping for some crazy Kurosawa-like shit.

Pretty good short story, even if admittedly predictable, although, I have to say, didn't see it coming that

Hanzo had no idea Genji was still alive
