And the whole "If you don't like it, don't read it" is pure nonsense. How will I know whether I like something if I haven't read it in the first place? Granted, I've read as much as I ever will of this fic and called it fucking awful because it is awful.

I don't really expect it to improve later on and just because the fandom of ASOIAF in general is overflowing with literal shit doesn't mean one should settle for sub-par fics either. It's a 5/10 at best.

I am looking for an SI story, where the guy becomes Robb as he becomes king in the north. Using his knowledge, he not only smashes the lions on the field of battle, he ensures the iron born attacks are destroyed, theon becomes a snow to avoid execution, he gets his dad's sword, and the return of both sisters. There is no red wedding. Could some one posts a link.

I stumbled across some abomination yesterday there, called The Miracle of the House of Targaryen, in which the Golden Company came to Westeros to fight for the Targaryens, Robert was killed, Ned was captured, Mace Tyrell took Storm's End by direct assault, Stannis fled to Essos while Renly was left behind, and while Aerys still died by Jaime's hand, Elia and her children lived. She had Aegon set to marry Margaery Tyrell, Rhaenys to marry Willas, while Viserys would marry Arianne Martell and Cersei would marry Oberyn Martell and go on to say that he was a good husband and mean it.

And of course, the crown on this shitpile is Elia legitimizing Lyanna's and Rhaegar's child as Jon Iceflame.

 

Iceflame? Really? That sounds retarded. And wouldn't it be Rhaegar who would have the power to legitimize the kid in question if he wanted to, not Elia?

 

Rhaegar was dead at that point. This was after the Battle of the Trident.

 

Iceflame sounds like something out of a parody or comedy skit.

 

I refuse to believe that anyone thought Jon Iceflame was a good idea.

 

Well, would be fun if her legitimizing Jon leads to something akin to The Blackfyre rebellions...

This is by DarknessEnthroned, the same guy who wrote A Cadmean Victory. There isn't much there at the moment but based on the update rate of ACV I'm hopeful for more to come.

This is basically a more Jon-Centric take on A Song of Ice and Fire where Jon gives joining the NW a bit more consideration after a few poignant conversations. The characterisations are actually quite good so far, and it has been moving at a decent pace when compared to the source material. I'm worried that not much will happen based on the colossal undertaking that this project is meant to be, a rewrite of the whole series based on this initial divergence. So far changes are well considered, but again it's still very much early days.

When compared to the ASOIAF stuff I've read from FFN this is probably about as good as you can expect.

 

I've argued before that the audience of AH is looking for something different than most readers here, which doesn't mean literary complaints are without merit. The real flaw of that story to me is that author doesn't seem to be happy with people disagreeing with his or her story's direction which is kind of the whole point of AH.

Some things on AH are better than others, but a lot of the fun of the forum is arguing about the plot and large scale events which isn't for everyone. I don't really see Nemrut's complaint about short bursts of summary as an unintentional problem, but instead as a necessary feature. Others can disagree of course.

 

Nobody will ever take a man named Iceflame seriously. She's removed the chance of him being able to lead a rebellion without having to kill him. Pure genius

As for summaries instead of chapters, that is a feature not a bug as saying goes.
