I'm actually quite curious as to how she's going to manage to make him defeat Voldemort, because as cool as it would be if he was the one to be finished off, it 'aint going to happen. I mean, short of obviously implausible things like feeding him a love potion, what can she do? Even she couldn't be as cliche'd as to use 'the power of friendship' or some such tripe.

(On a completely unrelated note, Quidam, in the animated square at the bottom of your sig, is the standing guy with the umbrella an Edward Gorey cartoon?)

Harry will stumble through the first 90% of the book while Hermione finds some secret magic an a really old, practically unknown book to find and destroy them. They'll meet up with Voldemort, and Hermione will reveal that the only way to defeat him is to impregnate Ginny right in front of Voldemort and millions of horrified HP fans. Voldemort will kill Ron before dying himself, then once Harry is finished he'll kill Ginny and argue some more with Hermione about whether Draco is up to no good.

She has advocated the power of love since the very first book. I would not be surprised at all, if she shifted it to the power of friendship. The only way I could see the 'power of love' really working would be if both Hermione and Ron died, and Harry went into some sort of berserker rage. However, that is intelligent, therefore Rowling is not likely to do it.

The book likely has some tremendoulsy important even happening on All Hallows Eve, or Halloween. This is also very unsurprising considering something significant has happened every Halloween in the books. I would not be surprised if that was the final battle, and the last half was spent bullshitting some 'romance' involving chest monsters. I feel that the last book will be just as, if not more so, lack luster as the Half-Baked plot.

Jokes. Rowling's neatly sidestepped the whole Harry doing Ginny thing with the end of HBP though, although I guess there's still the remote chance she'll molest him in his sleep :)

DemonDream - yeah, that sounds plausible, the whole friendship thing. I just can't visualise what the 'final battle' would be like in Rowling-style because she's unlikely to include any proper duelling of equals. I'm increasingly thinking that she'll have Harry go off solo to Godric's Hollow to face down Voldemort, and either defeat him with some 'give-up-as-the-AK-comes-towards-him' power, or his friends will appear and he'll find the strength in their presence to defeat him. Which, needless to say, would suck.

Heheh. Evil jewellery. Well, she's ripped enough from LotR already that it wouldn't really stand out against the rest.

My guess is that harry would sacrafice him self in defeating voldermort and some how kill him in the process, in which harry would come back to life by some kind of love of friendship power or something like that. meh! who knows...

As for the title, in all her books, the title refears to a place of a name or some kind of item. it's obvious, this title is a place of somekind but what, is the problem.

It can mean anything, but in my opinion, i doupt it's Godric's Hollow.

Maybe it refers to that in some places death is holy and that Death is what Voldemort fears above(which is very stupid in my oppinion I can think of many worse things.) and Hallows means to make holy. Or something having to do with his fear of death.

"# Someone from Harry's class, not Harry, Ron, or Hermione, and not who most readers would expect, will become a Hogwarts teacher. This seems to indicate that Hogwarts will indeed re-open, though possibly not until after the main events of Deathly Hallows have occurred"

    From wikipedia
God help us. Its a slytherin.

Clearly the last Horcrux will be a ring, which Harry will destroy by dropping it into a volcano...

How dare you lowly mortals accuse the godlike, heavenly, godly and holy JKR of such a horrid and atrocious thing as plagiarism. The said ring's destruction however, will contain a mountain, a fall and a hell of a lot of molten lava

It would have been better if HBP came out on 6/6/06.

I'm muchos dissapointed, it sounds rly lame when you say it out loud, just confirming the series is going down the drain. I'm not sure if shes gonna be able to salvage a decent story with this last book, its too predictable whats gonna happen.

I would just love it if Harry spent the whole book finding and destroying the horcruxes, runs to Godrics Hollow and gets AK'd the second he sees old Voldie :D, would make a good ending

I agree. I think it'll be one of the Slytherins, as a Potions teacher. Slughorn will go, after the humiliation in HBP.

Mordac, I don't think it can be Luna. Isn't she in the year below, and as such, not in Harry's class?
