Or a pocket dimension for your important belongings including your wand.

For some reason, and this might just be me, but I always imagined a holster in my boot like one of those hidden knifes.

Still, we could say it's any number of places if you have it to be done sort of hammerwpace.

Spatial-expansion charms are canon, not fanon right? Like Hermione's bag and wizarding tents, I imagine a wand holster can be rather small, but the inside would be large enough to accommodate any wand.

I imagine them like a gun holster on your wrist with the wand shooting up into your hand when you want it. The wand will be shrunken down while it is on your wrist as well.

I get the funny image of a wand being held in place with a velcro strap over it when I think of a wand holster.

Uh, to tell the truth, I never really thought anything about wand holsters up until this thread. :-/

I always viewed them as being on the wrist opposite the wand arm and being pulled out like a knife. But that seems much to realistic and simple for a wizard to possibly want. The ones that shoot it into the hand always seemed dangerous to me. What if the wizard didn't grab onto it properly and dropped it? I suppose that there could be a charm to prevent that.

Perhaps a deep pocket at the side or front of a robe?

Spatial expansion charms are canon, and I think this is probably the most plausible idea.

This one makes the most sense from a logistics standpoint. It requires zero magic to make and is simple in design and function. But I feel like wizards would be able to come up with a better option.

I've given this some more thought and come up with a different answer from my original. Maybe some sort of ring that stores the wand and a hand motion that makes it appear in the palm of the hand. That might be practical and useful for quickly drawing the wand.

Simple little devices that attaches to your wrist. With a flick of the wrist your wand appears in your hand. It has charms which make it invisible, comfortable, limits its size. If your have a 13 inch wand you will not need a 13 inch holster. If muggles see it they will think it is a watch. Cost 2 galleons, limited supply, get them while you can.

In fanfiction, many people see it as something that is attached to your arm, and shoots out when you flick your wrist. I also read a fic recently where you had to practice to be able to get the wand in your hand. But let's say, like Voldemort you have a wand 13 inches in length. I for one, do not think that 13 inches would fit in the distance between you wrist and your elbow. (But who knows, maybe you have weird freaky arms like Voldemort does)

Most of the time I see it as something you can get out of your boot, but that would be uncomfortable and also quite obvious considering that not everyone wears badass boots that lace up to your knees.

So honestly, like what Legend3381 said, simple devices that are tiny and with a flick of the wrist, your wand appears. Though I wasn't really thinking about a watch, maybe a bracelet, or a ring. I mean, they do live in a world where magic is possible.

I always imagine a brown leather item that goes on the forearm with dual straps, one around the crook of the elbow, and one on the wrist. It would have a long thin leather strap following the veins up the forearm where the wand would be placed, either through a loop, or a sticking charm.

I always envisioned them as spaces you could put your wand and magically summon it with a flick of your wrist. Like there was some enchantment that if the owner flicked their wrist while wearing it, the wand would slide or appear in their hands.

I feel like that would be a practical implementation.

I've always imagined them as a leather bracer, strap or string bindings, with a slot that spits the wand out.
Kind of like the AC knife bracer.

Before reading this thread I had the same idea but now I have to say that the space expansion charm seems more plausible and way more discreet.

I always saw them as strapping onto the outside of the thigh so the pommel/end of the wand would rest in the palm of the hand when you stand normally. I keep seeing these flick ones in stories and can only imagine how bad it would be to drop it at the wrong time or shoot it out when you were only reaching for something.

I guess I always pictured wand holsters as a gun holster, except shaped like a cylinder for simplicity's sake. Thinking a little bit deeper into it, a holster for wizards would probably be on the arms and would have some useful charm on them that would function similarly to the hidden blade from Assasins Creed.
