Daily deals aren't a thing anymore, you won't get a better deal later than you are now.

Do check isthereanydeal.com for better deals however. If you're cool with gray market keys, cdkeys.com, kinguin, or G2A.com may provide better deals yet.

Don't use the shitty sites like g2a. Many sellers buy games with stolen credit cards that can lead to all kinds of trouble down the line.

Fallout4 is worth it @ 50%. With mods it'll even make a good game.

The season pass used to be €30 but once they started releasing stuff they raised the price. As far as I know, they also said there will be 6 DLC add ons of which I think 2 are decently sized and 4 are just settlement extensions.

Is Endless Legend worth getting right now? I've heard is similar to Civ 5, which I'm a fan of.

See above for a short discussion on Endless Legend vs Civ V. I would definitely say that EL is a fantastic game that's worth getting, especially with the DLC. There's also a good number of mods that make the game fun, and even without them, the faction creation keeps things interesting.

Dividing the map into regions makes expansion more complex and strategic than in Civ.

Minor factions are similar to city states in some ways, different in others, but overall imo an improvement. You have to complete quests to win their favour, which is usually more involved than Civ's simple 'create a Great Admiral' type stuff, or you can raze and rebuild them to be loyal to you.

Combat is a short turn-based tactics minigame that relies heavily on strategic placement and movement, and it's a lot more fun than Civ's simple right click and roll dice method.

Player interactions, particularly in the early game, are quite different, since every player starts off at Cold War with everyone else, which means that in neutral territory you are perfectly free to attack others' units. This makes scouting and exploration significantly more competitive and dangerous.

Quests are generally very involved and drawn out affairs with significant rewards, and two of the victory conditions directly depend on following questlines to their conclusions.

Heroes are special units recruited to govern cities and lead armies, they can be levelled up and given special traits, as well as equipped with higher tier weapons based on research.

You can customise units with the same equipment based on research, that gives various bonuses based on what type you choose, allowing you to build units geared for particular purposes like speed or defense.

In addition to Wonders, which like in Civ can only be built once in the world, there are also Great Deeds (like earn X amount of dust - EL's gold) that unlock with each era and provide bonuses to the faction that completes them.

Several aspects of Civ, like social policies (empire plans serve a similar function), culture, religion, Great People don't exist in EL.

Finally, EL is simply beautiful to look at. The graphics and visual aesthetic is far beyond Civ, and honestly it's one of the best looking games in this genre.

Anyone play Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen? Looking for a good open world action RPG game and it seems to have decent reviews. Worth the $20?

I was super super underwhelmed by it honestly. Combat is floaty as hell and I found it incredibly unfocused. $10 seems a fairer price imo.

Endless Legend can also serve as a gateway into Ampitude's other games since they all take place in the same universe. There is also a good chance that done of the factions in Endless Legend will reappear as major or minor factions in the studio's up coming Space 4x Endless Space 2, which is looking like less of a sequel and more like a reimagining of the first game.

I see that from time to time on my recommendations, but have never pulled the trigger. Maybe I'll have to look if it's on special when I get in from work.

What do you mean by floaty? And if not that anyone recommend an open world arpg? I've played Amalur but could not get into it, I just didn't find it engaging.

Thinking about Dark Souls 2 or Shadow of Mirror but I played DS1 and hated it so I hold a bit of a grudge.

Have you played Shadow of Mordor? I've personally enjoyed it a lot and it got positive reviews. The nemesis concept made it a lot more engaging than I thought it would be.

I agree about Dragon's Dogma. The world felt empty to me, and you were just floating through it. The combat is unfocused, the pawn system didn't make a lot of sense to me and the leveling system was boring.

Shadow of Mordor is pretty good. Gets a bit repetitive, but still cool, and it's a gorgeous game. It's $12.49 right now too. Haven't tried Dragon's Dogma yet, but I was eyeballing it, and will probably pull the trigger before Monday unless I read a bunch of bad stuff about it.

Kingdoms of Amalur is $5 right now. I bought it last night and almost forgot to go to bed. It's what Fable should have been like.

I'm just finishing the last Shadows campaign (bright lord) and I've enjoyed the game a lot. Well worth getting on sale or part of the humble bundle like I did. I don't fuck around a lot but considering i'm near the end of everything with a storyline at about 35 hours played... I guess it's actually got a lot less game than I thought (am nearly 100% completion in campaigns). Still fun though.

In totally unrelated news, I was sorely tempted to get Fallout 4, since GMG had/has it for $24, but it's probably not worth it until I can replace my video card. Even with the details turned down, I'm not sure if my HD 7770 could get the job done to an acceptable standard.

Maybe when the customized RX 480s come out they'll have something that catches my eye.

I have a spare Civ V key and Darkness 2 key from the current humble bundle.

I was going to make a fancy steam giveaway, but it won't let me select DLP steam group for some reason, so I'll just check back here tomorrow and give the keys to someone.

If no one else wants Darkness 2 I'd gladly take it off your hands. That said I have enough cash I could buy it when I wanted to play it... but yeah, had my eye on it!
