Still pretty furious about last night. Played 5 games. Lost one normally (Hanamura), 3 were losses from disconnects (2 were non control, so - 1 level there) and won 1... Li Jang.

Only game I won gave me fuck all, lost huge on rest because leavers.

I don't care what magical way you can think people can game the system, having it count as a loss when people leave fucking sucks. Hard.

 

My problem atm is less the leavers, had only one so far and then the game was aborted anyway, but rather that you only get a minuscule amount of XP if you win and almost always drop a whole rank if you lose, which makes things rather frustrating.

And my ping in competitive is always higher, causing lag here and there at times.

 

Blizzard say that they've fixed the issue.

I've done alright for leavers. In my ten initial games (6-4, ranked 49) we had one DC, but as we were at 99% and on overtime, I have to think it was an actual disconnect, rather than a ragequit.
We did end up losing that match. After about 20 minutes. With both at 99%. But a team of Six Mei essentially locked us out the room.

 

Fuck sudden death.

Blizzard, when one team finishes a map 2-4 minutes faster then the other team, its not a tie. They won.

Putting a payload escort on sudden death, where all the enemy team has to do is wipe you once to make you lose if youre attacking... It's rage inducing.

I've had 5-6 sudden death losses now, all on maps where if we did it the intelligent way, basing it on speed, we would have won.

It's how the pro tournaments are fucking doing it.

 

It's almost like you should pick a team in SD set up to sustain, unlike in a normal match.

Because it's very much you die once, you lose. Especially on D.

But so does the defense. And the Defense just has to hold out for one wipe, with the long run on Numbani and Dorado thats more then enough. All they have to do is have a Symmetra though, and theyre set.

Attackers get fucked unless they wipe the D multiple times (because you have to account for payload moving time, which moves really slowly).

Just cracked ranked level 57. Placement put me at 51, got up to 55, dropped to 52, and then got a spree of not shitty/salty team mates for the current rank.

I've had some salty fuckers in my games, to the point of quitting the game after one round of stomp. Accusations of hacking/boting and shit. Anyone else had anything like that?

 

Just how team games go, nowadays. Hell, there's evidence of that kind of stuff in this thread.

Gotta just stay positive, I guess, but it's easy for the ragey ones to bring everyone down.

 

I've noticed some games it gets incredibly toxic, but some players are much more relaxed and chatty than how casual play was.

Although casual play is getting worse. Because comp is a bucket style, rather than a ladder, people are getting frustrated that their skills aren't getting them placed above 50... And so they go to casual play, and go fucking apeshit when the team isn't perfect.
And, of course, casual now has less players. So many people are doing competitive that you end up with a much wider skill range in your teams in casual.

 

Had a game where a guy said after we lost 'how am I silver on damage as Reinhardt you shit cunts?'

Team comp: Winston, Zarya, dps (lol) Reinhardt, Mercy, Lucio and Pharrah (me).

When I told him I was the only damage and was very much gold, he was suitably unimpressed.

As an aside, Zarya is possibly the best noob stomp hero in the game. Keep putting up shields that they'll definitely not ignore and just two-shot (sometimes one shot) right click everyone...

 

I pulled the Blackhardt legendary skin and I feel like I'm obligated to play him as much as possible now.

Getting sick and tired of being forced to go soldier or junky or <insert virtually any fucking hero here> etc to deal with turrets and bastions. Not the turrets and bastions fault, they aren't a big deal, it's the useless team mates who can't deal with them that force me to change when it's not my responsibility as sup/tank to kill them. Seriously it's not hard; point, shoot, profit.
