Two notable bad things in this post.

A) it's confusing bad with scum-indicative. I agree that Jan's overconfidence is silly. Is it scummy? No it's actually pretty towny.

Is doing the above scummy? I'd say yes. Only town is interested in actually finding scum. Scum is interested in appearing to find scum. In order to appear to find scum, you can go after people for "bad play" reasons.

Unfortunately, town sometimes does it too. But not as often.

B) giving pre-emptive excuses to push someone [font]

Bill is easily #2 scummiest so far.

Okay, I think I've largely caught up. I think we 100% have scum between tom and Jan. Before EoD 1 I'd have been very certain it was Jan. Post EoD 1, I think it has to be tom. He did some very scummy vote positioning, and dodged a priest check. I could go for either silver or him, but I want more content out of Silver so

yeesh, this is taking way longer than I had anticipated. I thought ~2 hours would be enough, but I'm not even halfway through.

Snow is riding on a wave of unwarranted townreads and is reacting to that in the way a sub-par mafia player would, which is by gaining a lot of confidence and developing cockiness throughout the game. Since he is apparently still townread by most, I expect this to remain inconsequential, but I'll remember to drop a "told you so" post after the game is over

Bill Door is #2 for the posts outlined above and generally falling into the trap of looking at the game through abstract terms such as "content" or "pressure" or "timing" instead of "who is likely mafia". Those things have at some point been coined to form tools to find out exactly that, but it's important to keep in mind that they are not what actually matters. Oh, snow is guilty of this too.

TWK is #3 mostly for being active but not standing out. Classic tell, uncertain but not meaningless.

Jan is just like he was in the championship game. This is a meta read, and therefore stronger than most of the above (excluding Snow)

Kai Dash and Mal I've gone over already.

fonti is, err, difficult. I don't know how to describe it, but the thing she is doing right now feels like what she has tried to do in my previous game with her where we were both scum.

The guy I replaced was also towny, no idea why he is even a suspect.

Ok, I didn't bring this up earlier in the the thread for obvious reasons, but Reaverb's like 5 posts aren't scummy at all, nor are they tryhard. They were 100% how he believes mafia should be played and how he plays every game.

That's not to say that they were towny either. Reaverb does a very good job emulating the mechanical parts of his townplay. So they're null. But they're not worth the amount of shade his slot has gotten over them. People scumreading that slot for reaverb's contribution are either playstyle clashing with the "all votes, no fun" FS meta or scum thinking they need that slot to be a mislynch to win.

(yes, I have been watching for people that would know better pushing that reason. None of them have. Unfortunately that isn't alignment indicative and it only accounts for like 2 other slots)

Your selective reading is the issue. You were responding to posts on the last page, but somehow were missing me getting walked through why BD was town to the point that you're still treating him as potential scum.
