Hi. How does like half the people here know you already? I realize that you guys play on other forums, but I didn't know yall played mafia with each THAT much.

That being said, any pointers you got for me?

    RATATATATATATATATATA.

    I've been over Zenzao.

I actually liked Rubicon's first post.

    You went full mathblade.

Tom had said nothing useful at that point.

For Citrus, I feel like this site has a history of cheeky scum. It makes me nervous. This doesn't apply to Tom because he announced his shenanigans before game start.

    And Jan was just feels.

These reads have changed. A lot has happened since page five? Five. Re-reading the thread though.

Kind of want to lynch von based on the last few pages, though.

    Lynch Vote: Von

    For you, Citrus.

Yog, babe, you can talk the meta talk when you walk the meta walk.

Fishy, that isn't a reason. Also, you decided on your Von vote before writing about your reread.

That is correct. I've read today. You and Citrus would be my favorite lynches, but neither of you want to be lynched. Fine. I'm not lynching Tom, Newcomb, Rubicon(yet), Miner, or Yogs.

    Atum is null for me.

---------- Post automerged at 09:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:09 PM ----------

And Jan is fency and not getting lynched today.

Welcome yogsloth, you god damn mime.

    Okay. What are you doing?

I think you're too mime-y to make bargains with, though, you might not follow through.

    Vote: Newcomb

If I can't have Citrus, this is my next choice.

It's moot, though, because Fishy feels reasonable town.

    I don't like a Newcomb vote.

After my initial rant I rad one of his drunk posts and felt that one of his reads felt really artificial to me.
    100% gut.

    I don't think this is a town!Newcomb post.
I don't think i have ever read a post like this from town!Newcomb.

Why do you think Newcomb is town Rubicon ?

Mostly because I make myself super easy for you to read fonti. Is Rubicon town or what? Asking for a friend.

Rubicon, it feels like you're not even trying to be honest. What about my play 'feels' mime-y to you?

re: my initial "going to apply a particular read to everyone's first few posts" thing - I was looking for people who entered the game overly confused and/or moaning about the setup. The setup is not actually that strange - it's just normal mafia, we just lynch the opposite way - and I had a hunch scum would try to play up the confusion aspect.

    Pings included:

Riely is confirmed town, fonti's confusion is mitigated by the fact that her second comment puts her mindset squarely in the "what winning looks like from the town PoV" ballpark, His Fluff's is whatever because meta, and Miner's stands as the one that could potentially be a Thing.

    ___
    yogsloth

Curious about your read on Jan especially re: my Game 7 thing, since I'm pretty sure you're the only one playing who followed along with that game.

    ___

    @everyone else

Yogsloth is a cool dude but do not sleep on him. He's capable of coming across as very tonally town as mafia.

    ___

Spent a little time after work going over some things. I feel pretty locked in to lynch Citrus/fonti/Snowvon and just leave Jan and Tom alive, and I'm pretty sure that's the game. I... don't actually think Jan/Tom is the actual team? The whole "looks like we're both never dying!" thing they've got going is just... too blatant. It doesn't feel w/w.

Rubicon I think doesn't really work as Tom's partner? That early townread then forgetting about him when talking about people he'd lynch also doesn't particularly scream "I secretly want to get that person lynched." But it's more the fact that Rubicon himself is kinda warming up for me. Whoever pointed out his meta thing of being less duck-y and more straightforward as town resonated with me a bit, and I feel his pokes/prods have been pretty even-keeled.

    That leaves:

    Miner
    Fishy Justice
    Atum
    Yogsloth r. His Fluffiness

His Fluff had 1 null post, then yog replaced in. Yog /feels/ kinda loose and towny but that read means exactly zero coming from me. Hard null until I have some kind of behavior from this slot I can latch onto.

    Fishy Justice:

ISO doesn't show a ton of gamesolving, but I think his progression on Zenzao D1 is ~fairly to moderately~ towny. Like, if you look at his #85, #98, #96, #102, #107, and #113, you can kind of get into his head and see him orienting himself around this one read, and using it to engage with people - like poking Snowvon over Zenzao vs. fonti.

    From #113:

It's... consistent. You can draw a straight line from his early game to that post, and it none of it feels particularly forced or pressing or outlandish. It's just... "ok I need to find a town. Here's a town. What does everyone think about my town?"

    Miner -

Miner had the one post that pinged me from my "first few posts" thing -

Wishy washy, pushing lightly against semi-consensus (at that point) townreads. I could see it.

Kinda like the wishy-washyness here but I can't quite articulate why. No over-explaining, maybe?

Pings me as that's like the 3rd or 4th time Miner's pivoted to the inexperience card. I could see newb!scum!Miner choosing to play it that way. I do remember him bringing it up in MM7 somewhat, though.

Not crazy about a Miner lynch.

    Atum -

    A little self-aware

Atum feels... /weird/. He was pretty much all business as a low content constantly catching up witch in WH5, and more trolly in TH6 as town IIRC. This is... not quite trolly, not quite serious? I'm beginning to think that Narutomafia was the exception and not the rule when it comes to Atum as a player.

I like the tone. It's a lot more "I'm town why are you being so dumb" and not so much "yes I'm scum but your reasons are bad now watch me constantly defend myself and nothing else."

Yeah, via association I've got nothing. He could be with Jan. He's... less likely to be with tom I think. Independently I think he's a little on the townside of null for ~meta feels~ re-calibrated for TH6, but that's a read I'm not so much taking to the bank as leaving on my desk and listlessly thinking about making a bank run at some point.

One of Jan/Tom+ one of [Miner, Atum, Yog] in approximately that order.

I have a tinfoil world but I'm not bringing that up unless we get a flip that shatters my view of the gamestate.

Not super crazy about Shadow; he's too cool-looking, tbh. Shadow's supposed to be kinda scruffy and down on his luck.

Kristin Chenoweth as Easter is fucking brilliant, though.

Didn't really like the music; didn't fit the tone IMO but it's just a teaser so whatever.

Ian McShane as Mr. Wednesday makes my socks roll up and down. He's the best.

on the other hand Dane Cook is in it somehow so perhaps the world is a joke and everything is awful.

Still going to watch the shit out of this, though. When does it air? Soon?

There is a fault in your thought process Newcomb.

You clear Rubicon as not Toms partner and say you kind of townread him.

But can you clear him as not being my partner or is it just the resonating gut feeling that makes him town regardless of who the other scum is from your position?

You can expect tom, you and me in final 5 .. and if you are town then you better hope we have some obvious town to lynch at that point.

    ---------- Post automerged at 06:37 ---------- Previous post was at 06:35 ----------

2017 .. not sure when. that is the first teaser that aired 10 hours ago.

    Ian McShane is soooo good.
I don't care about anything else.

I like the Shadow actor due to his performance in The 100.

The music .. yeah .. i mean it is the normal music the player when trying to create suspense, but not a perfect fit, just vanilla.

    That trailer is pretty good.
Newcomb's game got me to read the book a few months ago. Not quite how I pictured things, but it doesn't look like they're fucking it up horribly either.

I should probably be saying something game-related right now, but fuck it.

Yeah the game made me reread the book again.

Do me the favor and put your newcomb town feelings in words please.

I think he is fairly scummy, but I am curious about other peoples reads to see how much of it is just omgus and wanting him to be scum and how much is me just being a greater player than him.

Can't clear him of that, no. But it's not super relevant in this game because of the nature of it - we only have to actually nail one scum and just never kill them; it's not essential to identify the exact team. If Rubicon ever gets lynched and does flip scum, it would make me a fair bit more comfortable lynching tom late in the game, was my point.
