What if I play on my google account from the very beginning?

 

I've noticed a few times I throw a ball and it goes right through the Pokemon. Also battle dynamic has obviously changed.

 

I'd still make sure I was logged into the correct account, and if I was I'd contact the support. Just parroting the advice I've seen on the swedish facebook Pokemon fangroups.

Concerning battledynamic you're referring to charge moves being worth to use now?

 

I love how they're more concerned with people tracking pokemon than fixing their broken fucking game.

If I can't scan, I'm just done with the game.

 

Latest update has improved outfit options, and hurt every other aspect of the game.

I'm pissed as hell, especially with the attitude Niantic is showing on whats important to them- breaking tracking sites is more important then players being able to use their game to find stuff.

 

I don't mind the tracker so much. I'm happy for it to just show stuff around mem I always found the tracking websites counter to the game.

 

What 'game' exactly?

The only fun thing about Go was seeing that rare pokemon pop up on your tracker and hunting it down.

Well, rip to that.

Or maybe you liked bashing your screen to 'battle'. Each to their own I guess.

 

No I though the fun was walking around new areas, going to places you usually don't go to visit pokestops and while there finding new Pokemon. The battles are rather meh.

 

So if the only fun thing is tracking that Pokemon, why are you arguing for the use of a function that turns the tracking into 'walk to point A'?

I'm not defending the removed tracking system, merely the advocacy of the scanner. Which admittedly I used aswell when available. I still prefer the game without it.

Frankly the aspect I've found the most amusing so far is actually getting outside, sitting in a park with a few friends in the sun. Ironic that it took a game to get me to go outside more I suppose.

 

Because the tracker is broken. That's why those scanners are needed. Now they're removing the scanners and the in game tracking, so there's no 'game' in hunting pokemon now, just whatever you stumble upon.

If the point of the game to you is just socialising, power to you.

 

I have been playing this game a lot. It came out at a uniquely advantageous time for me, where I just finished my 2nd (and last) year teaching, but I have no work this summer due to heading off to law school in 2 weeks. I have had a LOT of time to play.

I've been traveling to high traffic areas. I've gone to a pokemon nest for at least 3 hours a day 6 days a week the last 2 weeks. I've been playing LOTS.


But I had to rely on pokevision to actually FIND anything. Nests tend to be in parks, and parks tend to be large. If I didn't have a tracker, I would have ended up finding nothing. I remember actually arriving at my first nest the day the tracker first broke- trying to find Ponyta's was goddamn impossible. I didn't even realize it wasn't just me at this point- I thought maybe it was the area.

Then Pokevision came out, and I could actually find shit again. I had wasted hours wandering around Bayfront Park (which is a huge popular area on Miami Beach, right south of the American Airlines Arena and the Port of Miami), and despite it being a Charmander nest I could barely find shit. Now I was catching all of them that appeared, and it was fucking fun.

I can't go back to just guess work. All I'll be thinking about it how pissed off I am that this shit has changed. Like removing the paw prints? What, are you trying to turn a bug into a feature? Fine, whatever, thats just cosmetic- its shutting down the third party scanners by way of actively changing the game code to make them impossible to use.

Fuck, if you have the time to do that, then why have you not FIXED THE TRACKER? Why have you not banned the gps spoofers or botters?

God just typing this is pissing me off.

 

Not all of us live in a place where we just encounter cool pokemon. Its not too fun when all you see in normal places are pidgeys, rats, and weedles.

Honestly I think the biggest flaw in the game is the spawning of pokemon. Why tie it to cell signals? The game is stupid easy if you live in a city and pretty boring if you don't.

 

Anyone else finding incense to be completely useless? I've tried using it while walking, standing still, and even lured Pokestops but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. I got maybe 5-7 Pokemon total the last time I used an incense and they were all shit tier.

 

Same. You get more when moving, but in my experience it's the same shit you always get.

 

I live half a block from a city park xD Electabuzz, Rhy'Don, Onix, Machop, Diglett, Ponyta, Mankey, Pikachu...

Incense isn't suppose to give you any special or high quality Pokemon. Its only purpose is to spawn you Pokemon, and that's what it does.

 

It doesn't increase quality. It's only quantity.

 

Oh I know, I was just commenting on the fact that they were shit Pokemon. My issue was that it didn't seem to increase quantity either. I found about the same number of Pokemon that I'd have found without the incense and this seems to be the case every time I use an incense.

 

The first time I used incense, I was sitting at my uncle's dinner table and didn't understand what the item actually did...

Chansea immediately spawned. Like, immediately.

 

You can tell which spawns are the incense spawns as they have a purple swirl of smoke around them.

You get 1 every 5 minutes, or 1 every 1 minute if you move 200 meters in that 1 minute.

Or at least thats what it was prepatch. Who knows if that has changed too.


Edit: So Go is getting fucked pretty hard in a few ways right now.

First is massive negative reviews in the App stores. I can't tell you the Android numbers, but for iphone theres been about 12,000 1* reviews for the latest version already.

Second are refunds- people are calling in refunds for money spent in such huge quantities that apparently app store employees have already made a form response specifically for this issue.

Finally, it turns out that the only direct email support for Go goes to an unmonitored email address- something that is against the terms of service for both play stores. People have begun mass reporting that as well.
