    i did not catch it.

i did, however manage to pick up 3 5.0k eggs while i was there, but i have no idea if hatching is determined by the area they were picked up in or where they are when i finally walk it.

assuming the former, those 3 are literally my last shot (aussie trips are expeeeensive)

Did you visit the outback while in Australia? I wonder if there are pokemon in the wild areas. Catch a pikachu in the mouth of a Salty.

Has anyone been noticing a decrease in 10k eggs? I have not received a 10k egg for the past 9 eggs. I am wonder if they nerfed it or RNG hates me like in every other game. My last 2 eggs hatched into Onixs. A bust

I actually have had better luck on 10k eggs recently. I got one between level 1-23, and I've had like 8 between 23-25 (current level).

I also know several people who have only had 1 or 2 total.

hatching is determined by the area you are hatching the egg in.

If your egg happens to hatch near a river/lake/water it will 99% of the time be a water pokemon.

    So, sorry, no Kangaskhan ;/

I am so sure about that, it could be because i like in a city near a river but i feel the eggs are random or preset. By a port, an egg hatched into a ponyta, poliwag, and magnamite. When i was in the middle of a park, like 50 miles away from a body of water, i got a magikarp and a poliwag from an egg.

On several occasions, an egg has been close to hatching but when i look at my recent pokemon, I see a new pokemon somehow appear. When the egg hatches its that pokemon. That is why i think there is a preset value

Just got back from a week-long vacation on Balboa Peninsula, just south of LA. Makes me hate where I live, because I was pretty much tripping over Pokemon and Pokestops everywhere I went there.

Grabbed a ton of much needed water types (I live in Phoenix, nearly nothing of the sort to be found here), but my hardcore brother and I hit up a Bulbasaur nest in Irvine and both got a Venasaur to round out the Pokedex.

We did notice that lures near a "water" area were much more likely to spawn water type pokemon than an area inland, which got us a lot of rattatas and pidgeys.

Also, taking down a level 10 gym and throwing 2 Likitungs in is incredibly satisfying.

Looks like the new update provides info on IVs.
    Appraisal phrases

So you definitely want 82.2%+ for the IV phrase. Then you can further sort through based on the IV stats phrase that comes after. Neato.

Does this negate the need for online IV calculators? Or can those narrow it down significantly further?

As I understand it, you can determine a great deal from the dialogue. Certain phrases are only used above a certain % of maximum.

As a Mystic player, my leader says "your pokemon is a wonder" if it's over 82% of maximum stats. She'll then go on to tell you the best stat of the pokemon, and if there are other stats that match it she'll tell you as well.

If your stat is maxed out completely, she'll say "Its stats exceed my calculations." Max stat is 15, so far as I know.

So if you get a "Wonder" pokemon, with (stat) is matched by (stat) is matched by (stat) which exceed her calculations, you have yourself a perfect 15/15/15 pokemon.

Yeah, Howdy. That's how I've been using it (went through all my current pokemon today and starred/favorited the ones that were (1) above 82% and (2) had at least one IV at max.

But I don't know what current online IV calculators can do and if they can tell you more than that. For example, is there a way to tell which ones are at 95%? Or perhaps you have one pokemon with 15/13/13 and another with 14/14/14, etc.

I really, really hope you can't do that. Because then the game would provide the same functionality, and I'd love to see the game itself start doing a better job matching the available tools online.

Has anyone lately been having a bit of a dry spell with Pokemon encounters? I have been walking around and from a 6km walk, I have gotten far less Pokemon than I used to. I have been busy as of late so I haven't been able to check the update notes but is there anything in there that could have affected it.

No, I get pokemon pretty regularly but i am in a serious dry spell in regards to 10k eggs. I has been months since I got a 10k. I hatch about 4 eggs a week, but no luck

I get at least one 10 km egg every 2 days, but then again I hatch at least 2-3 eggs a day, so...

I've walked 168km according to my game and hatched about 50 eggs. I've only gotten one 10km egg ever.

    Unlucky.

I traveled to a different city (for the pokemanz, ofc) and now Pokemon Go refuses to load on my cell. It was fine literally as I was entering the boat. I'm crushed.

Anyone know why it does this or if I can fix it somehow?

You likely got pinged on the cheat-protection radar. What happens as I understand it is that if you're travelling unusually then you can get blocked from the server for a while. It should only be a couple of hours, though - try leaving it the night and see if it starts working again.
