She does try to steal her heart; something activates on the chest which makes her pause, presumably a bomb. Quite why she can't magic it out is unclear, but I could at least handwave that as her not wanting to risk it.
She couldn't appear without being summoned - it's just that Dr Moon summoned her in her sleep. Whether that was just awful coincidence or Enchantress forcing it to happen is, again, unclear, but it's preferable to sleep talking.
Total agreement on Boomerang. Harley I think was probably supposed to be there as a thinks outside the box team member, which in fairness she does.

The old man wanted to see Ben Hur for father's day, took him. Don't know what reviews are saying, only know that it's bombing hard.

It wasn't bad, per se. Just boring. Saying that with no great love for the original.

The Nice Guys is pretty great. A PI buddy comedy set in the 70s. This is the first time I have seen Gosling in a comedy role, and I thought he nailed it.

Watched Suicide Squad today. Enjoyed most of it. Not as shit as most people are crying.

The Warden giving Harley the phone in what was apparently full view of soldiers not under his command and outright naming Joker was shittily done. Wasn't a fan of the final boss fights either, although Diablo's form was beastly.

I really wanted to like it but for some reason this movie never worked for me in total. It has some hilarious scenes but that doesn't make it a good movie, imho.

Just saw the Startrek. I am satisfied. I liked far more than I thought I would. Action especially, was amazing.

In fact it might be better than Star Wars 7.

    Waaaaaa?

I saw that with about seven other people. I'm so surprised you'd rate it that highly, if you meant that Star Wars seven was good. All of us thought Star Trek was bad and kind of regretted going to see it. It didn't have the feel the last two did, the intro was hamfisted and expositional and it just didn't resonate emotionally like the others did.

It was good. Felt like an episode of old Trek which I liked. Yorktown was an amazing idea and awesome graphics, Using Sabotage song and that sequance was despite being a clishe worked really well, bad guy was a bit thin in background but it was workable and character interaction though, that made the movie.

Plus I hate unnecessery drama that many movies try to show on to your face. It is good to see some people able to work together like adults they are supposed to be rather than going to melodramatics.

In comparation SW7 was unsatisfieing in the extreme for me. I won't go in to the particulars.

Plus I am not the only one who liked the ST in this thread.

Look at the name, it should be obvious.
    Hell or High Water

They earned their 99% on Rotten Tomatoes, was absolutely amazing. Best movie of the summer by far. The entire cast brought their A+ game. I don't normally care for Ben Foster but he probably deserves an Oscar nom for this film. Jeff Bridges as the lawman, I have seen it before but this something special like True Grit. Chris Pine proves that he is more than a pretty boy.

Just saw Don't Breathe. Aside from the war vet, all the characters were annoying. Thankfully, this actually added to the film. Every scene was constructed perfectly, with just the right amount of build up - and just the right amount of time to cool off. Enjoyable all the way through. The tension in some scenes was palpable.

    The one disappointment was
that the girl didn't die. I disliked all three of the main characters, but I disliked her the most

I concur. Just finished watching it and I must say that it's definitely deserving of its critical acclaim. Featuring full-bodied characters that are well fleshed out, complex narrative and ingenious pacing, it's an excellent film.

The craft and cinematography were equally stunning, but that's not what I found impressive. I rather like that David Mackenzie and Taylor Sheridan decided to go for characterization and world-building rather than the typical gunfights in Western heist thrillers. I think this film managed to subvert the whole "mindless gunfight" trope quite nicely.

The trailer can be found here, but it really doesn't do the movie justice. Definitely 5/5 from me, and I'd recommend that you guys give it a try.

The battle scenes could use a little more work in my opinion, but it's nice that Mel Gibson is directing again.

I cannot take Spiderman 2.0 seriously as a southern American. I just can't.

Just got back from Kubo and the Two Strings, which I really enjoyed. Stunning animation, and a heartfelt, moving story - just wonderful all round.

    Great movie, horrible advertising.

Only reason I knew about it because I took my niece to see Pete's Dragon the day before and they showed a trailer.

That's it. No further proof required. 2016 is the year of Apocalypse. Don't bother hiding in your bunker, the whole planet is going to blow the fuck up.

Saw the trailer for the new PotC.... not sure who the villain is, but I'm kinda sad they didn't go with Black Bart...
