Seconding that Linda's reaction to Lucifer's face was priceless. Amazing scene and FINALLY.

Another great episode. Better than the last one, imo. Ella is a very fun character, and I really hope that she is actually human, not pretending. You'd think Lucifer would recognize her if she was of the family.

Besides the fun ride that was the partnership with Ella, we get some plot to do with the mother, whatever the fuck she's up to.

I'm feeling vibes of the Mother and Amenadiel turning evil and Lucifer turning good, so to speak, after that episode. We've known there's been something fucked up with the mother for some time at least.

So I'm guessing some sort of plot with the devil as the good guy? But not really? Who knows, this seasons finally starting to pick up though. I almost thought Detective Douche might die at the end there, though. Pity he didn't remember the blades influence, but that would break the whole "omg when will Chloe find out that Lucifer is really the devil???" schtick. That better be over by the end of this season. Otherwise it might become like castle and the "will they won't they" bullcrap that got so old that by the time they did, everyone just hated the show.

Amenadiel is confused and hurt, which is understandable, but the mother has never been good, exactly. She hasn't pretended to be, either.

I don't know anything about Lucifer apart from what I've seen on the show, but Amenadiel being confused and hurt can be taken advantage of by the mother.

I've been feeling the reversal in roles for the whole season and this episode has made me believe in it even more.

It's like God's overarching plan, the way it was always meant to be is Lucifer's redemption. Amenadiel is slowly turning darker and darker as humanity is rubbing off on him. He still has that dash of zealousness but now it's there alongside lust, jealousy and wrath.

Meanwhile, exposure to humanity is bringing out different qualities in Lucifer, Selflessness, self awareness, kindness and compassion.

It's as if Lucifer is being prepared for a more virtuous role while Amenadiel is being prepared to take over hell or act as a test for Lucifer.

And yeah, Mom is Evil. God locked her away specifically and despite the show trying to lead people to believe God is a distant, petulant figure, it's going to turn around at some stage and be like, "All for the greater good!"

I'm sure people who have read the comics know with more certainty but it just feels as if that's the direction we're headed.

According to Rep, the comics and tv show have nothing in common other than character names and the basic plot of Lucifer leaving Hell, so even comic fans are in the dark.

What's with the fact that they barely focused on the fact that Lida now knew the truth in episode 7? There was like a total of four minutes where she was in the episode and that was with Maze.

As for episode 8: Who leaves the blade of the Angel fo Death in the middle of the woods? I can let that pass though since the guy had just killed his brother so that was understandable.

As for the scenes with Linda, I felt like the witers passed up a great opportunity to do some exposition. Maybe give some backstory on Lucifer and exactly how/why he fell. But overall, I think it was handled pretty well. Also liked the Trump joke.

Don't get why Dan forgot. Could be that he's faking it but I doubt it.

    Ella, as always, is awesome.

What's with Amenadiel' hat/beanie? Dude looks like he just got out of the Hood.

At this point, I'm doubting if the mother is actually the mother. She could just be some kind of demon or maybe even Lilith herself.

Also, they really need to make Lucifer do something evil. Like he did int he earlier episodes of Season 1. Make someone go crazy, actually kill someone, etc.

I irony here being, that if she was, then she'd be Maze's mother. (At least following the comics, Mazekin and others like her are the descendants of Lilith.)

Anyone else besides me just laugh themselves silly over how jealous Chloe got? I thought she was literally going to explode when Ella was miming out the murder scenario with Lucifer. I'd almost swear it was deliberate on Ella's part if I didn't know better.

That was definitely gratifying. Dan's reaction to her jealousy was also priceless. Season two has been very good to that guy's character.

I'm pretty sure the concept of the Lilim isn't going to be used in the show, otherwise Maze would have corrected Linda when she called her a 'demon'. Mazikeen in the comics is not a demon.

And Sree has the right of it. The show is very, very loosely inspired from the comics. All they share is some names and the starting premise of the devil taking a vacation. Literally nothing else is the same, so don't think of the connection between the two as more than it really is.

:/ stop posting my posts before I do, Rep.

Ella continues being my favorite character of the show.

Also, the joke about Trump was fun.

What does not make sense is that Lucifer's mother would allow a weapon that can kill her children out in the open and in human hands. That should have been a big warning sign that she has ulterior motives.

Side note, do you think that Lucifer looks like that because he was thrown out of heaven or is the face he was born with?

I'm gonna go with because he was thrown out, since conventional mythos often paints him as the best and most beautiful angel etc. I didn't think his 'true face' was very good design-wise, after all that, 'my face drives mortal to madness' he was just kind of red and a bit melted looking, but then it is in the show for roughly a second so I guess we can't complain.

I would assume it's more than just the sight of it itself that drives people insane. When Lucifer went skully-face on people in S1, there was an apparent pressure on them and their sanity, probably stemming from Lucifer's powers and, to a lesser degree, their own preconceptions.

    "I want my lawyer now."
    "Well, don't eat him."

    Savage.

Ella is amazing. Altho her trying to get Lucifer to talk to god was a bit... yeah. Makes me wonder if the theories of her being supernatural might hold some water.

    This season has been fantastic.

Okey I keep getting impressed with one good episode after another. Even Chloe jealous thing that would normally make me roll my eyes, but not this time. It felt like natural. And it is not the first time such scene was done really well.

I like how this is going.

Also Ella miming the murder was fun.

    STOP EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW.

Ella speaks Klingon in the new episode. Fucking Klingon.

So, basically, she's top tier waifu material now.
