I was talking to my local GameStop guy and he was saying that there's a rumor that if this game doesn't sell Square-Enix may have to shut down. S-E has put so much money into this game that any $ loss would be catastrophic. This terrifies me because that would mean no Final Fantasy 7 remake. He said he's worried because there have been very few pre-orders for it at his location, and that a typical big seller usually gets 3x the pre-orders he has for FF15. So, cross your fingers it sells, and try to buy it new to support the producers.

 

SE have a diverse enough portfolio that they're no longer beholden to one franchise's success - Tomb Raider Hitman, Deus ex, Dragon Quest etc etc

 

Saw the game cover - that's some beautiful art.

I like PAK figures. I have Vincent, Lightning and Sora...Not sure if I like Noctis as much as i like them yet, lol

 

I imagine it's going to do pretty damn well, given that Christmas is right around the corner. Only new release competition in RPGs is what... Berseria and Persona preorders?

Have stopped right after the second Royal Arm. I wanted to go further, but a sudden L34 Coeurl popped out of nowhere and utterly destroyed the entire party in a single hit, since it was night. Also brother and sister were bitching at me for usurping the TV, those little shits.

Conclusion so far: this game is pretty, good, and fun. Unfortunately I'm not good at it. The boss of the first dungeon just about wrecked my face; it's a wonder I managed to win that.

 

There is absolutely no chance this game doesn't sell. Sure, it could flop "critically" (which is very unlikely, IMO) but I can easily see them outselling the franchises' staples.

Also wanted to say the new (to PS4 players) Tomb Raider is really entertaining. They have a diverse portfolio of games, so I think would survive unless the game was an unthinkably massive dump in their most popular series.

Btw, the EXACT same thing happened to me with the coreul, lol. I got away though.

You can immediately phoenix down noctis just as he's dying before game over, i found out, lol.

The Royal Arms are badass btw. I'm also loving the magic system too.

Especially when i found out i could add Stop to Thunder on those gundams. The friendly fire is annoying though. The Dudes seem to get out cleverly enough. Not Col though... His face was covered in soot during the next cutscene, LOL

You're almost convincing me to get a PS4 to play this... Maybe next year.

 

Got a PS4 for this game. Booted it up. Rebooted for an OS update. Put the disc in. Spent 10 minutes copying files. Loaded the game. Game says it's installing and will take 30 minutes before playing.

THIS is what console gaming is now?

(The game itself is interesting. I feel like I'm button mashing during combat but things die and I teleport around so I guess I'm doing it right?)

 

Make sure you have rest mode downloading on. All that shit will happen automatically while you sleep and you really get cockblocked like that.

It's steadily climbing my ladder of best PS4 games with every hour I sink into it.
