Let's face it, all the muggles Harry met in pre-Hogwarts life failed him. The neighbours bought Dursleys' lies about Harry being a troublemaker despite the lack of evidence. School authorities are supposed to be trained to recognize the abuse and yet nobody does anything. Everybody ignores the fact that a ward of a wealthly family is dresses in rags, he is underfed and his glasses are broken. So Harry has no reasons to like muggles at all.

 

More wizards have tried to kill him than muggles.

 

Perhaps, but some Wizards helped him and even saved his life. Which makes a lot of difference in the eyes of the abused child.

I'm looking for a story I read some time ago. It was a fairly well-written post-DH fic where Harry and Hermione are gravitating towards having an affair.

Details I can remember(keep in mind it's possible I'm getting some fics mixed up):

-Harry/Ginny and Herminone/Ron have the children described in canon.
-Hermione is involved with the lawyering profession in some capacity. I can't remember if she works for a private firm or the Ministry. I'm leaning towards the Ministry. She is also married to Ron.
-Harry is married to Ginny.
-Ginny is possibly still heavily involved in Quidditch. Seems to really enjoy being a socialite, thriving off of the Potter name and fortune.
-There is a specific scene where at a party at the Potter home, Harry and Hermione slip away. One thing leads to another, Harry has Hermione pressed up against a door/wall and NC-17 things happen.

I know this is really vague, but any suggestions at all would be helpful!

As far as I can remember it was a fic that focused on slow buildup. Last I read, they hadn't even actually consummated the affair yet.

I need help finding a story that came out before the release of Deathly Hallows. It may have been before Half-Blood Prince too.

It was Snape's backstory for why he was fighting against Voldemort, and it was over a girl. The girl's parents were murdered by Voldemort. I remember it was a big deal that he helped her to her common room, because it was in another House. And that he got mad that people only cared about that detail.

And then later in the story, the girl committed suicide, and died in his arms.

It then skipped ahead to Snape explaining to Harry that this was why he chose to fight Voldemort. And the reason he had never lived anywhere besides Hogwarts was because that girl's ghost was still there.

Keep in mind I never read this story online. My Aunt told it to me verbally one day, and then she printed it off of the internet and gave it to me. But I can't for the life of me remember the title.

 

Looking for a particular story featuring fancy occlumency

I'm looking for a particular slightly-occlumency-centric fic (it might be two of them, but I think it's just one) where (1) Harry's mind is organised as a town, and his memories are, at one point at least, assigned to different coloured candies in a candy shop based on their emotional content, with fake memories in the town library to trick the likes of Snape and (2) there's a point in the story where Snape attacks Harry's mind, and Harry traps him there, visiting various tortures upon him, including repeatedly feeding him to a mental construct of either the Rancor or Sarlacc (can't remember which).

I know that the fic(s) exist, and I remember getting good laugh out of it(/them), but I can't for the life of me remember what it(/they) was(/were), and I can't find it(/them) via google. I hope I'm asking in the right place... Please help?

This has been bugging me so any help would be appreciated. An alternate Harry Potter is pulled into another reality when that world’s version of himself dies. Said counterpart is pretty twisted and ends up mixing house-elves with dementors. I want to say it’s a one-shot. I do know that it features Dumbledore and the new Harry explaining his history to him.

Some time ago I read a fic where Harry faked his death after defeating Voldemort, though Teddy knew he was still alive (since Harry didn't want to abandon his godson). There was some important stuff about being the Master of Death, and maybe a Harry/Hermione romance (though I think she was in a loveless marriage with Ron). I remember one bit where someone sent a poisoned book to Rose Weasley (or maybe someone else?) with the plan of compelling her behavior by giving her only temporary cures to the poison.

Does this ring a bell with anyone?
