    Also this.

If Q is scum, Math talked him into souping with a list and then they missouped the /first target/. This indicates Q probably doesn't have great role reads.

If Jan is scum, he did the soup thing for town credit. Even if we don't know anything else about him, he at least hasn't whiffed yet.

No, I mean the claim I saw. It was just some weird shit about light, and so I just assumed he was doing something else.

You didn't read this post after that? Or the 20 or so posts before that?

I read that post. Don't see where the vig comes from in it?

I was skimming, of course. Which is how I missed Von's post.

As scum, you want to put the target you are least sure of (but still think you know) first, so it isn't as indicative as it may seem. I still think lynching Jan is tight here, since I think he's more dangerous than Q.

Jan post soup (not completely in order)

    Quiddity post-soup

I have mixed feelings. If it's Q he dove for the bus the second that soup failed. Jan was pushing town!Mathbalde at start of D2

I mean, yeah, in a normal world.

But we all immediately suspected Math when we read N1 soup, right? I feel like they might as well have just gone for it if they had something, especially considering they were using one of only two soups.

    But yeah, that's thin.

    Least sure of? Why?

Surely in a soup there are the competing priorities of a) putting the hardest town first (so you don't randomly clear someone *cough cough*) and b) going in order of how sure you are (so you kill more).

A means putting Jan first is a dunderheaded move. B was the world I thought we existed in, but requires a very unassertive scum group bowing to Math.

Yeah, that looks pretty bad for Jan, although Q would dive for the bus for obvious reasons.

So much irony in the one time I was halfway townreading Jan being the time he was actually scum. :facepalm

I had doubt on mathblade d1.

Because I thought pushing obvious-town!von is not aever a good scum strategy.

I had more doubt on Mathblade d2 until they said the bullshit about my dob claim thing. At which point there were more or less outted for me.

Q apparently had a shitton of trouble at home, but always was on the #1 bus spot on both of his partners?

This is nothing but supreme bussing.

You guys should actually do the work and reread the thread, knowing the scum is exactly one of us and see what makes more sense.

I pushed all day yesterday that there is a scum in the likely confirmed. My top 2 were reg and jari at the time.

I was fine with claiming earlier and told everyone so. If I was scum then I won't comment on that.
Q waited to counterclaim the last person he could.

You have to believe me as scum has not only gotten lucky because I did not have to claim earlier.
I also claimed the exact role the one person left in the poe has.

Von Typhon Koalas Reg are all untouchable.

If anyone of them would have been my role I would have auto lost.

And I get lucky to call out Q before and then claim his role after?

But yeah sure .. if you believe in that game of chance that made me get that lucky, sure. Lynch me because I am what? the better player?
You are more afraid of me in case I actually am scum?

Take your head. And pull it out of your ass.

If I am scum then I get way mor credit!

Imo, Jan voted Math at a key point in Day 2, when a fair number of people wanted Waco and people were starting to suspect me.

With multiple scum left, I could see putting a ?? soup choice first because it doesn't reveal who did it, but I struggle to see the objective of that soup. It didn't seem like there were any more that made sense... although with Mathblade who knows... which makes me wonder if it was done like that intentionally

Lynching Jan is probably the safer play. I just don't want to do it.

Stop mischaracterizing things. I'm not some lazy!scum who just landed on my partners and waited/inactived out the days.

I pushed hard on miner when he started making odd posts, riposted with him to clear up what was going on, and then campaigned hard for him once it was clear he was scum - at a time when a ton of people, from Von to Kalas were doubting it. I basically built that wagon, with Typhon alongside.

Whilst this was happening, Mathblade was pinging me tonally. Their posts never got near Miner's level of scumminess, but late in D1 they were still my second choice - although I was suspicious of the way their wagon built up so fast.

D2 dawns. A soup has occurred, and naturally my eye is drawn to Mathblade, so I call them out. I'm a tad inactive at first, as planned, and then later some big personal shit goes down. I miss the excitement, and my initial vote for Math ends up being the first vote on them, though my read was far less strong than half of them.

I defend my reads and thought process at any stage in that.

Of course you did, you could work the numbers and knew that you couldn't win without creating paranoia in the cleared. Unfortunate, wasn't it, that Jarizok and Regfan both ended up cleared?

Jan makes more sense to me, and honestly his pressure to get this right isn't exactly fearmongering but it's close enough that I don't feel bad about this.

If it's Q and he soups us all so be it.

    Lynch Vote: Jan

    Q's (essentially) post on D1

    Q's D2 1st post

Quiddity, can you talk me through the transition in mindsets between these posts

---------- Post automerged at 10:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:30 PM ----------

For the doubt you had on Mathblade D1, you were really late getting on her wagon... And real fast to abandon it to get an early spot on Miner.

You didn't have more doubt about Mathblade D2, you opened the day town-reading here (see the spoiler I posted above). You didn't really get on Math until after they tried that silly crumb/claim thing.

I mean, I think the second post explains it well, with the added information of the soup (which immediately makes one think of Mathblade).

One thing that first post is missing is its position in the thread. I wrote it at a time when, in my phone-posted battery-dying delerium, I was only up to the point where the Mathblade lynch was ruling supreme, and I was staring down the barrel of them being lynched easily whilst everyone dismisses the (far, far stronger) miner case.

Then Regfan comes into the thread, right as I'm wanting to post something angrily to say that, and says exactly that.

But the timing of my post is wrong because I never caught up that night: so it looks like I'm posting that after the effect I wanted to create - a newly resurgent miner lynch - has already occurred. And so when I catch up, that is the burning message I want to convey: that my posts at EoD1 weren't to say that Mathblade was town, but that their wagon was suspicious and Miner was so much better.

---------- Post automerged at 10:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:36 PM ----------

This is the more relevant EoD1 post to look at:

I mean, a big reason I checked Reg is because I felt like he was defending Math. And his open post did do that.
