Okay. Honest question here.

Why do all of you believe that Vaimes cannot believably fake a town attitude to win as scum? Is this because he's got a longstanding history of crumbling under pressure and there have been no examples of scum victories with him where he didn't get lynched?

 

Man, wouldn't mafia be way more townsided if instead of taking this line, everybody took the EricF line instead:

"I'm going to get mislynched, but it will be early rather than late, and in getting mislynched I will expose the entire scumteam to competent votal analysis"

 

I think that's mostly true, yeah. For the most part, he freezes under pressure. Here, he can't stop himself from talking and game solving even though his stated goal is to post less.

 

But if everyone was like EricF, then no one would know their own roles.

I have never made it to endgame as scum, except for exactly one video mafia game (and I'm still not sure how that happened) and my second ever forum game.

If she's lying it could very well be because she's scum with Vaimes, meaning that lynching Vaimes is fine as well.

But... I get that if offered the choice between lynching scum!Font and scum!Vaimes everyone should want to lynch Font in a heartbeat.

I mean, even if he is town, the fact that he's changed up his playstyle at all means that he's harder to meta-read by default. This should all be obvious, not "beyond your comprehension".

 

Or he tried to change his meta, but feel back into his old town meta anyway. That makes him incredibly clearly town.

This Vaimes is not the Vaimes of the last 2 games and it's not just because he changed his name.

Mal, you're read isn't making any sense to me. In that game, I pushed on Citrus when I did no better. Here, I just didn't include you in a preliminary towncircle, no pushes involved. Do you think one of Tom, Typhon and Jari are obvious town and I should see it? Do you think I was winding up to lynch you? I just don't get it.
