Mmmkay, I'm home.

So here's what's going to happen: I'm going to walk you through how I got to my place at the bottom of most of your walls, I'm going to apologize for my shortcomings, and then I'm going to throw down a series of medium length posts (because lol!walls) figuring out the issues of the day. When those are solved we're going to be one big happy town circle and we're going to lynch scum D1 and it's going to be glorious.

I rolled town and showed up in this game pleased with that and fresh off my high of playing decently in TH7. It was great for like 15 minutes, and then Vaimes was different (not complaining, so we're clear, I just always start solving the game with you and when you're different and throw down a post exactly like my scummate Newcomb did when he engaged slank cover /his/ first 2 posts in my last scum game I can't do that in the same way) and I was scumread by half of the thread for reasons I still don't properly understand and tom was being tom and Math was being the same as last game but everybody apparently thought it was different and I was defending myself more than I was solving and suddenly it was less great. In case you've missed it, I don't handle large-scale sustained pressure well. It's not a thing that often happens, but I just don't do great with it as either alignment.

But that was cool, I'm a big boy and I can deal with these disappointments.

So the next day I regrouped, reread, and dropped what I felt like was a reasonably spicy wall as part of my plan to divert some of that pressure away so I could follow up on my reads and solve with a clear head and no need to defend myself. Except clearly it was mild, because then the other half of the thread was scumreading me too (excepting Math, whom I still kinda think is just scum here, and Cobalt, whom deserves a brofist) because it was a wall and I was crafting a narrative and other such things.

So I blinked at that for a while, and defended myself a bit as best I could, and then I went to sleep and I've been either working on things with eminent deadlines or sleeping pretty much every second since. But now I'm back, and I'm here to live in the thread because at this point it pretty much has to be that I'm just playing /this/ poorly somehow (you're not /all/ scum or just being influenced by them) and this is unacceptable. So I'm sorry. Really, I am. This has been a poor showing by me, clearly.

And now we're here. I'm going to go start figuring things out now. If you need me, hit me up. If you don't, just wait on them sweet words.

 

Your usual method is somewhere in your null reads.
Maybe the top of the nulls if we agree on stuff, bottom if not.
I like that method.
You lynch me when you're out of real scumreads, like every other game.

If you're gonna change up, I expect a reason.

Lynching me day 1 does nothing.
You know full well even if I flipped scum that I don't spew buddies.
And when I flip town you get nothing because, well, it's just whatever.

As for my fun coming before glory:
I catch people. It happens.
I'm not actually good at being town, but I can share some #stats
When I'm town and mislynched, town is 4-6
Nightkilled, 2-8
When I endgame, 7-2

It's a fairly small sample size, but those are definite differences.
The NK number makes the most sense, since if I'm the top town than that town is a total disaster.
But yeah.
Despite me not caring, I am good for town. Not sure why.

Or did I just suppress you doing that last game at all?!

Sure thing. As far as this whole "narrative" thing goes, I guess I'm narrative by nature. I do it literally all of the time. In posts, in my work (I'm an academic), everywhere.

I didn't suppress it last game, so I'd be surprised that it didn't shine through there, but my guess offhand would be that if an increase exists, it is a function of two things - me falling back on natural patterns as /I'm/ under pressure instead of me applying pressure, and me having longer posts as a result of playing a lot more catchup than in last game where I was hovering over the thread and had like 200 posts at this stage. If the second is the case, I was probably more narrative in my big posts last game, but idk if that's the case, honestly.

 

That whole part where you made a thing out of voting Miner early out of "self preservation," but are content to sit there on a dead wagon rather than do anything...

This quick shift back is even worse. It's not like it's not a clear reaction to my #1110.

On first thought there were like the same 4 people under pressure for most of the game.

I have Townreads on the first half and nothing on the 2nd one.

Do you think if tom is scum, that his team just gave up on him and decided to bus?
If yes, who are the likely bussing scum in your opinion, if no, what are his partners doing?

Like those mostly stale wagons compared with toms behavior don't make sense unless scum are fine with them.

(you could argue that fonti and tom are not actually stale, because there is some movement, but the pressure was always just on the same people and never actually shifted somewhere else)

 

If we're doing flash wagons, I think this sounds better. Jan's play has been real lazy, and #1169 takes the cake

A Jan lynch doesn't do us a whole lot of good though? I mean, not too much information to be gained from interaction there. Feels like he's been doing his own thing for the most part.

 

This is part of why I just stared at the thread for a while after my wall was poorly received - I have no fucking clue what's going on besides that I think Math is scum and am almost the only one who does so and it has tilted me pretty hard so far. I'm in the process of figuring out Mal at the moment, and then I'll go from there. If he's scum, I think that tells us something interesting given how he's not pushing thread consensus. If he's town, that doesn't necessarily mean he's right about fonti, but it does both make her worthy of a hard look and at the very least make him someone I can bounce reads and get a toehold on this game with.

I know that's not what you asked, but the answer to your question is kinda *shrugs* right now.

I checked through some of your longer d1 posts, and you are way less self aware that game.

I can see it being in part because you are on the offensive a lot, which means you don't talk about yourself very litte.
