So. Season 7 placements. I started in my main role of support but quickly lost hope and moved on to carry roles for placements after a soul killing thresh game featuring thunderlords draven. Finished 7-3.

 

So I've been watching this Challenger dude's documentary about his climb to rank 1 (he's prolly never gonna get there but hey it's amusing).

While solo queuing, I have had the worst ranked experience I have had in recent memory.

Did I play like shit? Yes. But top lee went 0-4 against Nami Top in the first 8 minutes. On top of that, your usual basket case of cancerous adc, no map awareness mid and useless jungler(me).

 

Recently, I've been winning solely because of Yasuo.

Either he's on my team and we have a comp like Yas/Zac/Ori/Kalista/Braum, and he hard carries, or I camp the Yasuo facing our Nasus.

I love Yas.

 

Luckylee is now a Master tier player. He owes it all to President Trump's inauguration.

 

Finally finished placements.

Went 5-5, played the last two while dead tired at 2 in the morning, so perhaps not the brightest idea.

Placed in Silver IV, which is a full tier below where I was last season (Gold IV).

Good news is I'm getting ~27 LP per game, so after 3 wins I'm at like 80 LP. Hoping to skip a division or two of silver as well...

 

That's a recent Riot thing, I believe. Lower divisions give more LP per round, while higher divisions (I-II) give lower LP. Although that makes you wonder how the population in V/IV stays so high...

 

I'm now stuck in silver 3 because I literally can only carry as ADC or Jax and both are shit in the current meta.

That awkward feeling when a 9-1 Ashe gets run down by a 2-6 Darius.

I mean we won anyway cause Kat would flash into my arrows, but it felt so bad.

 

I realized I played so much Janna last season I lost all my mechanics on my once main (Ahri). Now I have a 33% win rate when I had a 64% last season on her. At least I have won several last games on Janna and in my promos for Plat again.

 

Just getting back into league after not touching it since S4. So many changes. I'm not even sure where to dive back in, last time I played Graves was still an ADC.

 

Graves is still an ADC, he just happens to jungle while doing so.

Finished up my placements way earlier in the season than I planned to.

7-3 solo for Gold V and 5-5 Flex for Silver III. Flex games were AIDS.

 

I promo'd into Gold 3 last night. Last season I stopped at gold because I didn't really care (I just wanted the skin) but this season I think I want the Plat border (again, had it 2 seasons ago). I've been having a lot of fun with Support Karma (and a little brand, though I'm bad at it). Still maining Mordekaiser top for my off-role.

Ive been thinking about learning Ahri, since she seems strong but not too busted these days. I'll have to think it over, a good Ahri can be super oppressive in lane and roaming but I feel like she has enough counter play that the other team won't have no ability to react to me.

 

A tip for ranked: if your Kog says that he's good and that you can pick a protect the Kog comp, don't trust him. He actually sucks.

 

After three attempts and quite a few internet issues, I have finally returned to gold.

 

So I stopped playing league awhile back because life happened and I got a new job, got married, bought a house, etc. I picked it up for a bit to spend time with some friends in different countries for a bit playing ARAMs, when I got banned for scripting. In my ARAMs.

So not wanting to lose my account when I had literally no idea what I had done, I decided to not play again.

I want to pick it up again.

So since the last time I played was season 3 I think...anything drastically different I should know about?

And what's a good runes/mastery setup for fizz top? Or alternatively, where can I head for some decent guides to refresh my game knowledge? All these items look really weird.
