Occamy, specially if i could combine it with a disillusionment charm. I like snakelike creatures with wings.

Do we know if extinct animals are possible? I don't mean necessarily dinosaurs, but something like dire wolf and similar creatures.

Either a really fast bird or something unreal, like a Pokemon. An awesome Pokemon.

Falcon, I guess, or a cheetah. I love velocity and acceleration more than anything. But the falcon has the added bonus of flying, so I'd prefer the falcon.

Wasn't there a Calvin and Hobbes comic on this?
Also, a rat honestly wouldn't be bad, easy to blend in

Turning into a falcon would be nice. For a magical creature I'd definitely pick a Pheonix.

    Not a motherfuckin' pterodactyl?

If I got to pick my animagus... probably a dog for the mundane option. It's large enough to defend itself and a common enough animal to interact with humans. Barring that... I'd go for an insect, so I could spy on things to make money somehow.

Phoenix for the magical one, obv.

As a 'muggle,' I'd love to be a peregrine falcon just so I can fly.

As a wizard, and with magical creatures allowed, I'd love to be a phoenix. Flight, teleportation, fire, uplifting singing, healing tears, immortality while in animagus form, other hinted at powers. Phoenixes are just pure, undiluted awesome, any way you look at it.

I want to say a T-Rex. Or a lion. Something that just makes people want to shit their pants in fear.

Wizard, maybe Basilisk or Nundu. Same idea, really. Being on top of the motherfucking food chain has gotta be amazing. Of course, being a phoenix might be cool too.

It would be epic if the animagus process was far more widespread. Werewolves would be less of an issue, due to animagus being immune. If more were capable, then I could see it becoming something akin to the apparition license. I mean shape changing is a storied ability in many magical cultures and traditions. It would be a cool way to hide from the muggles.
The World Cup show that wizards like to show off, so what better way than having shapechanging. Even if they don't have the most coolest form, it can still be useful and impressive in the right situation.

Who needs zoos when you have animagi? You'd have a traveling zoo.

Why does an animangus have to be a animal living today. I would want to be a raptor or a trex. Lets see anyone fuck with one of those.

I'd say despite how awesome it would be to have a phoenix or a panther, I'd want something inconspicuous. For normal one I'd take maybe a small insect, or a common pet. It'd be either a small fly running around spying, or a dog to have a good time. For magical i'm really not sure because of just how many different ones there are, yet an occupy seems good because of the size changing ability.

A green land shark because it would give me possibilities under water and their long life or a Macaw for flight and longevity. Magical animals would be a nuckelavee because I was watching rwby and while gross was pretty cool.

Non-magical, definitely a fox. Fast, nocturnal, and able to survive in many different environments. Besides, I've always loved ever since I was a small child.
Magical... a phoenix. Typical, I know
