• You are a wannabe Dark Lord.
• You got lot of money.
• You got some manpower. 30 followers.
• You are magical. You live in the Magical world. However, you want to dominate the whole world, not just the Magical community (let's say there is 3 million Witch and Wizards on Earth)
• You have not revealed yourself to other people as a threat. Maybe they don't even know who you are.
• The non-magical people, or Muggles, don't know about the Magical world except some presidents or ministers around the globe.
• You know that there will be a lot of other people that would want to stop you. You have to find a way to keep them busy or neutralize them.

So, what would your plans to dominate the world be?

 

I would first enter the muggle world and use my magic to accumulate large amounts of money. Perhaps take control of several profitable companies. I would then enter the magical world, and have a sizable amount of that money converted and used for bribes to get officials to pass laws that would aid the public. I would then make it known that by my actions these laws were passed. I would also expose any oponents in the government as being harmful to the people, and have them eliminated.

Once I secured control of the magical world, I would fabricate a reason for an attack on the muggle world. My minions would use various spells to take control of the leaders of the more powerful governments, I would then have them declare war/take over the smaller countries. After several years, the whole world would be chaotic, and people would welcome anything to end the war. At that point, I would use the same tactic as I did for the wizards, and infiltrate the governments, and make it known that my influence, not the politicians actions, brought the end of the war.

All that should be left at this point is police action and defending against 'freedom fighters' who decide my death is best.

 

Ooo, I love working out evil plans to dominate the country/world/galaxy.

First thing I'd do is to channel as much money as necessary (all if needed) into getting myself to places where key military figures are scheduled to be. Be that parties, trips to barracks, etc. Everything can be bought for the right price. Upon arrival at these places I would place them under the Imperius curse, personally to ensure that I would not lose control if my followers were killed, and would continue with this until I had a large majority of high ranking military officers and key military figures under my control. Their task would be to work together to begin preparing for an all out attack, and I would give them a set timeframe to do this whilst my followers were more thoroughly trained and research into wards is conducted (this will be necessary for later).

The planning would need to be very intricate so I wouldnt be able to specifically say how long that stage would go on for, but when I deem us prepared enough different military units would be moved into specific military bases throughout the country and several elite loyal units would be positioned in London along with several of the most high ranking officers under my command (including the commander of the military as a whole).

My followers and myself would lead them in an assault upon Downing Street itself, our sheer numbers and the element of surprise would result in a swift and relentless victory. The Prime Minister, his family, and the Chancellor and his would be brought into the street and publically executed. The military would occupy Downing Street providing temporary security whilst my followers put into practice the research on wards, fully warding the street as best as possible against any form of wizarding attack. The head of the military would provide the necessary information to arm all nuclear weapons held by the United Kingdom and prepare them for immediate launch if any country attempts to launch operations to help secure the country, or if the United Nations convened to discuss action to be taken against the new regime.

Across the country all other military units under my control would mobilise, moving to occupy the central powerhouses in their areas whilst the nation is in crisis. The political system would be systematically crippled by this, with all local political leaders executed in the same manner as the PM and Chancellor. London being the exception. Those units not assigned to the protection of Downing Street would mobilise and converge upon pre-assigned locations along with heavy artillary, with one of my followers assigned to each target to ensure the target is hit. Tanks, heavy machine gun emplacements, etc would be a part of these units.

The areas they would target would be St. Mungo's, The Leaky Cauldron (my followers are there to confirm destruction of this since Muggles cannot actually see it), and the public entrance to the Ministry of Magic (would be guarded by troops and Machine Gun emplacements, any people emerging to be shot on sight).

Areas such as Hogwarts and Hogsmeade with muggle repelling charms around them would be targetted by several small tactical nuclear warheads, but not destroyed. The country would need to be secured before I moved against these institutions (unless of course they made public moves against me, in which case the warheads would be launched to remove them from the tactical map).

After several days needed to stabilise the country the military would begin rounding up all people of sound health for enforced service in the army. Those refusing to join would be taken to military locations where several of my followers would be stationed to liberally apply the Cruciatus Curse in order to convince people. All other magical followers would be detailed to begin rounding up adults within the magical community to press them into service in a seperate magical unit of the military which would be used in the eventual incursion into the Ministry, Hogsmeade, Hogwarts, etc. The same process as above applies to those who refuse to join. Naturally research into the bringing down of wards would take place in order to eventually make Hogwarts an easier target.

It would take some time to bring the country into a state where it would be suitable to start looking to begin the attack upon other countries, and I won't detail the process for seizing those here. The nuclear warheads would keep them in line until I would be ready for them. Overall the key to my strategy would be to use the muggle world against the magical one and take both in the process. One thing that Voldemort doesn't understand is that the muggle world is a tool, and it is a tool much sharper than that of the whole magical world combined if wielded for a purpose.

 

I'd take the long view. Make a horcrux (thanks unemployed homeless muggle, you were finally good for something) and hide it somewhere safe. I'd probably use a knut and put it in my vault.

Once immortality is ensured, sit back and quietly build my influence. Through my followers liberal use of the imperious curse I'd farm the muggle world for wealth. Hit a CEO before he goes into a press conference, buy stock, have the CEO announce record profits, sell stock. Then we use the money to support political issues and do charitable works. It's important that everyone think I am a great person who takes care of the community.

Over the years I'd use my growing influence to help muggleborns and half bloods into positions of power, cementing my reputation as a good guy and earning valuable political favors for when I make my move. Muggleborns are more likely to get rid of troublesome pieces of legislation that would give my opponents too much power or freedom.

Maybe a hundred years down the road, everybody owes me favors, and everybody knows I am a good guy. I become minister of magic in a landslide victory. Now that I'm in power and have unprecedented public support, one of my followers puts a muggle military unit under our control and has them attack. Now in the interests of "safety" I grab even more power and control. I become the last bastion of Light, all the while orchestrating everything from behind the scenes.

 

I'd create with my followers some kind of giant obelisks that will sprout from the ground everywhere across the world. It would be like some kind of giant television and I'd reveal the Magical world to Muggles everywhere in the same time. I'd 'convince' them to join me, or they would die. I could destroy one city to show how serious I am. They just need to know I am their god.

The whole Ministry and Order of the Phoenix will be busy trying to stabilize the situation or destroy these relay obelisks, or trying to lessen as much as possible the panic that will ensue. The Muggle army will be beforehand disabled.

Of course, I'd use that to my advantage to attack the Ministry, Hogwarts, etc. to secure the Britain and remove the power base from my enemies. Dumbledore without Hogwarts is nothing. The minister without ministry is completely useless. Without ministry the Aurors are useless, etc.

Now that Muggles know of the Magical world and know that I am their god/emperor/supreme ruler, I'd have to keep their loyalty. I'll supply them with some Magically enhanced items, like Unlimited ammo riffles, etc and build a Muggle army with magical weapons. Some compulsion charms, control potions, etc will ensure their obedience and loyalty. Muggles are weak-minded after all.

I could solve some problems the Muggle have, like Petrol, duplicating it magically. I could find a way to mass produce some healing potions. They will be grateful toward me and won't be happy to know that Wizards existed for hundreds of years and yet they didn't help the Muggles. They'll respect me.

So, I'll be kind of a 'good' bad guy, just because I solved some problems the Muggle couldn't.

I'd have some diabolic appearance to look scary; every Dark Lord has to be scary. Fear is a powerful thing.

Only when everything is secure, I'd look for a way to have immortality. I could even 'hire' a whole team of Muggle scientist that will study Magical ritual, Arithmancy, Runes, and such things and then develop new rituals for me.

5-2) I kill off any morons narrowing the group to say... 20ish
5-3)through a liberal greasing of hands I get my followers into positions of Prominence in the most powerful countries around the globe.
5-4) I have a couple of the less prominent ones declare war on each other. Fifth, I have a couple of the larger ones step in and 'Mediate' the dispute through the use of 'Peace keepers'.
5-6) The lesser countries are turned into territories as they refuse to stop fighting, and my minions who used to head them are made 'Councilors'.
5-7) slightly larger countries get into the fight, and I have my followers slowly escalate the fight to a continental war. In the mean time I send about half of my more prominent members across the puddle as 'War Refugee's and get them working on infiltrating the south American governments.
5-8) I slowly have One side of the Continental war surrender, as the leaders of the winning confederation use this as evidence of their abilities to lead and consolidate their power even more to 'Accelerate' the process of 'Victory'. Meanwhile my followers in South America should have gotten in good with the leaders of said nations, once again through a liberal use of greased palms.
5-9) I launch a sneak attack through Mexico and across the bering-strait (Russia) If done correctly I should have the majority of the south western US in control within 14 hours. At that point I have my troops dig in and have Mexico send an emissary's to the US government threatening to nuke LA if they try to retaliate. at the same time I shut off Their flow of Oil from Alaska, and have the Russians send an emissary to Canada offering a non-aggression pact so long as they don't interfere.
5-10) I dig in for a year or so in the south-western US I have european Emmisaries sent to both sides, but start Immediatly shipping weapons and troops to Panama. With the canal under my control the US will have to go the long way 'round the continent I also start to slowly amass troops in what was formerly alaska under the guise of 'Stabalizing their hold'
5-11) after a year I have mexico offer a peace treaty for retreating back to what used to be Texas/New Mexico/Arizona.
5-12) after year two, when everything seems settled I have the US's 'Allies' simulatiniously Kidnap any High ranking US officials (Not hard if the house and senate are in session), and strike at key military instalations. While the US is trying to recover from that I send in a massive strike from alaska, and when the forces on the southern border are sufficiently weakend and In disarray I send another attack from mexico. Within a couple of years I've got um, and after that the world is mine!

 

Well aside from paying *very* close attention to the Evil Overlord list, I'd probably take the ACROSS/Ilpalazzo route: namely conquer one city at a time.

I doubt it would work properly, but it'd be fun for a while.

 

First I'd learn occlumency then I'd build myself up on both sides of the battlefield.

NOTE: My Dark persona would not stand for any prejudice against muggleborns - they can be very powerful and can have contacts in the muggle world. I'd probably fight as a freedom fighter for the so called Dark creatures or just be going for simple World Domination. Nothing better than a simple slogan.

On the one hand I'd be the ever faithful warrior for the Light, on the other I'd be the mysterious Dark Lord that acts fromt he shadows (kind of like what Emperor Palpatine did in Star Wars). I'd work my way up the ranks of the Light side, all the while corrupting as many as possible to my side. Then, when I'd got to be the second in command of the Light forces, I'd have one of my most faithful followers polyjuiced to look like me so he could go out in public to show my face and provide an alibi, and I'd kill the current Leader of the Light (Be it Dumbledore or Potter, I don't care).

Since I'd be the logical one to take over the Order of the Phoenix (or whatever organisation was currently going) I'd be able to orchestrate battle to go either way, to make it more realistic. I'd even have one of my more powerful followers charmed to look like me and we could have a massive duel, for publicity.

Eventually I'd start letting the Dark side win (obviously ) and have my Light persona call out to the other magical communities for help, all the while bringing the leaders of these nations under my control and building up my forces.

I'd still allow the Light the odd victory but I'd have the Dark have the upper hand. Eventually it would get to the point where the muggles would be involved. I'd imperious as many of the muggle world leaders as possible, along with the military leaders/terrorist cells. Then I'd start up with the terrorist attacks and cause chaos in the muggle governments by supplying portkeys to terrorists and have them keyed to 10 Downing Street or the Oval Office. Nukes would be a last resort.

I'd then use the imperioused military leaders to declare war on any oil rich nation holding terrorists. Note these countries would be holding terrorists, mainly cause I put them there. I'd have the UN (again with the imperious curse ) support the wars and quickly bring them under my thumb. Then, once I had enough money/oil/power I'd get the people in China and India to the Dark side, mainly by offering to improve their quality of life and have them revolt. After that was over and done with I'd nuke the hell out of the US and invade with my Asian forces. That's the most powerful nation in the world out for the count and two bloody powerful ones on my side.

Europe would be the last bastion of the Light, where most of my major battles would be fought. I'd slowly beat them down, all the while calling for renewed efforts as my Light persona.

Then when the Light had almost given up hope I'd have my Dark persona 'killed' in battle (probably through an imperioused and polyjuice person to look like me). While the Light was rejoicing I'd then let my forces through into any strongholds left and slaughter the remaining Light troops.

At this point I have to note that any children born of any prophecy would have been taken to me as the Light Lord and I would secretly raise them to be Dark after having his parents sent to Azkaban by corrupt officials.

With my victory secure I'd turn to the rest of the muggle world and invade the most powerful countries, using legilimency and the imperious curse to limit the damage to military targets. Don't want an uprising now do we? Then it would just be a matter of settling the people in Africa, Australasia, Indonesia and South America. But that should be easy.

Personally, I'd get a nuke and hold the world hostage. Ok, ok, I know that wouldn't work. I would take out one city before I would get toasted by every othert country with a nuclear weapon out there.

But still, how do you take over the world as a muggle?

First off, after taking useful precautions against death and boosting my magical power in whatever ways possible, I'd take some lessons in public speaking. Charisma goes a long way.

I'd probably go for the alter-ego thing like Aekiel was using. The best way to instate yourself properly would be to be 'at war' with your evil persona whilst you, the good minister of magic battles him back. Wartime would allow you to put through some new laws that help you set up the way you'd want to, and if there was public resistance, hey! Just get the bad guy to advocate the opposite of the proposal and instate said law in retaliation to him. Then, once you're all set to go on to higher places, and secure in your power, you 'win' in a battle against yourself, either killing the 'evil' persona or letting him 'flee' so that you can use him elsewhere. Then of course milk the public gratitude and use the time of saint-like status to forge valuable connections that only prestige and fame can really get you.

I'd take over in a slow, insiduous way. I'd extend my influence throughout the world through the 'goodness' of my deeds, influencing powerful allies and make sure anyone with incriminating information about my offing of potential enemies was killed. The whole 'killer is employed to kill someone, and is then killed, and the killer who killed him is killed too' thing. Of course, if I'm immortal through whatever means, then people are going to start to rely on my age and wisdom to help them, and once they start trusting then it's just a gradual process of changing the world and perceptions of the people to the way you want them, and not revealing your bubbling tendancies towards megalomania.

 

I would find someone powerful enough to take over the world, and gain his/her trust. After becoming their right-hand man, I would watch as they take over the world. When they're done, I'll slide a thin knife through their ribs and declare myself King.

You guys put way too much thought into this... I personally have already begun my plans... It all started when I used floo powder to contact George. All he knew was that a strange man was made manifest in his fireplace. I told him I was God, and he believed me because he is a dope. I told him to run for president, and I told him it was God's will for him to win.

He ran for president, and he won. It was my meddling with the votes that ensured his victory. He later in his term declared war on another country, via my orders. He said it was to finish his father's business there, as I instructed him. Later he slipped up and told the people of me... the idiot... He told them that I told him to invade Iraq, and I wanted him to be president... sadly this could not be helped...

My plans are falling to pieces... George took too long, and he got an overinflated ego... He refused to take over Iraq, even when faced with the punishment of death... I decided to turn my attention to keeping the war going until George decided to take over the country. I sent some of my men into Iraq disguised as Iraqis and they took out several soldiers. Now I am trying to anger George into pulling out the nukes... But he started listening to his mother and will no longer listen to me... It is all a big mess now...
