So, the emotions. That isn't always bad acting. The directors they hire aren't very, erm, good. It's the directors job to tell Daniel what emotion to convey.

I'm sure the director of Poa, which is not a bad director at all, had not asked Dan to make a face as if he were sitting on the potty not being able to poop.

Anyway little fangirl, my opinion is still that Dan is a pretty crappy -average actor. Not that he NEVER gets anything right, you haven't heard me say that. But a lot of scenes could have been done a lot better, and no im not talking about the script. Rupert and Emma's scripts are corny too sometimes, but i'm not saying anything about them.

 

It's the directors job to direct. If he is such a good director, he should be able to tell that Daniels face sucked. Yet, we still see that face.

Dan isn't as bad as you say. Yes, he isn't great enough to warrant any epic roles, but go look at BBC Extras. Look at his parts. The writing is considerably better than Harry Potter, and Radcliffe does a great job in that role.

Rupert -- He is terrible, IMO. He looks like a donkey kicked him in the face, and then he walked in and started "acting".

Emma -- The best of the three, but that's not saying much.

But I'm serious, she is the best of the three. Daniel is pretty good, look at Extras, but nothing too major. Emma is pretty good as well, and is good at working her character. You can see her as Hermione.

The director can only do so much, his face sucked in that scene because he sucked at doing that type of emotions. Not because the director asked him to make a poopy face. Alfonso Cuaron could hardly block out Dan's face with a black balk and written across it, "this was supposed to be an angry, upset scene but Dan sucked in it so we blocked out his face."

I have seen the Extra's episode a while back already. And no Dan's acting is still not too great, the script is though, which makes it great. It doesn't really matter anyway, because it was supposed to be funny so you don't really mind if his acting is not always up to par. But no it wasn't GREAT it was okay.

lmao @ donkey kicked in the face. I think Rupert is cool, and the faces he makes, and the way he acts really potrays Ron. And indeed Emma is the best of the three.

Anyway, I'm done with this. My opinion is clear.

I hated the PoA movie. I thought it was roughly directed, and not at all close to the actual plot. Especially the werewolf scene. After noticing one of his most recent works, Children of Men, which had rave reviews, I realized that he was never supposed to direct a movie like PoA. Perhaps Guillermo del Toro would have been a better director-- his faeries in Pan's Labyrinth were magnificent, and the faun had an air of the mystic.

 

Actually I thought Emma's acting (especially in GOF, talk about over the top) is the worst out of the three. Dan didn't handle the "I'm gonna kill him!" scene in POA very well, but he did do a better job in GOF. Granted, I didn't see actual tears when he came back from the cemetary with Cedric's corpse, but he did the best he could to convey the emotion and he didn't do a bad job at all.

He is very good in Extras, I hear he does well in December Boys, and I'm going to see him in London in Equus (the play). I hear he is really getting ready for that role and I can't wait to see what he can do. (DLRostam, who sounds like a fangirl now, eh?)

My whole point in mentioning his acting in the tiny glimpse I had on the OTP trailer is that he did not sound convincing at all when he said "I want to fight" or "I am not weak!" he sounded like he was trying too hard. But I don't think he's a terrible actor. He himself even said at some point in some interview that he still has a lot to learn.

Pfft. I'm going to see the movie.

 

Yeah i heard they cut out allot from the book so i think it's gonna suck, I also heard they cut out Granny Black portrait
