    *pokes thread with a stick*

Rubicon - I'm not parroting a cliche at you. Or rather, I am, but it's not a thoughtless hurrdurr sort of thing - I know why it's an issue, and I think it applies here. Maybe I'm being unclear about what I mean or I'm jumping at shadows.

I don't know. Clearly other people don't particularly agree that I've found something, so it's kinda whatever. I don't think you're lock scum or anything. I do think there's a legitimate difference between the two statements, and I do think that difference could well be alignment indicative, but I'll let this go for now.

Let's change the subject. Where is your head at with regard to the rest of the game? You have any spicy reads for me?

Vira - If you'll read again, I said that, assuming I felt decently about their towniness, it made a lot of sense. I acknowledged that I'm often not sure of fontisian's towniness and thus it would probably be Newcomb, but honestly that probably works better anyway (I think we're more similar in mindset than fontisian and I are).

I guess I should have explicitly said that I wouldn't neighborize someone that I didn't feel fairly well about, but I sort of thought that went without saying. Because, contrary to what is apparently the feeling the some/most people in this game have, I do not think that having a QT with someone is particularly useful in solving their alignment.

I don't think the rest of your argument is a particularly fair reading of what I've written, so I think I'll leave it at that. Where is your head at with regards to the generate? Obviously you think I'm scum, but what else are you thinking right now?

Vira, can you explain your scumread on Typhon in more detail? Is it just the neighbor thing?

Cobalt's really overreacting to some minor pressure from Jan and Tom on the last page. Also his VT thing is confusing when you consider the setup.

What do you think of Koalas' vote on you?

Also I'm going to call Jan town.

I might regret this later. But I like what he's doing so far.

    Look at Newcombs picture here.

I really don't want to start analyzing a meme here.

Look at the text on the picture. There are two ways to interpret it (well there are more, but two main ways for me).

    A. Serious (In which case Newcomb thinks Typhon is town for posting good things)

    B. Taunt to make fun of the post. (In which case Newcomb things Typhon is scummy for faking it)

Now add to that that we are talking about a meme here and I have no idea what the picture is meant to be.
Are memes normally 100% serious or more likely something to taunt/take a jab at someone?

Conclusion at the time - Newcomb most likely does not like what he is seeing. Or rather he likey what he is seeing but it feels fabricated, because he basically is talking about a checklist on the tophalf, which could mean that it looks like someone went through a checklist to fabricate a post that looks good, but is not.

If you don't get it by now, then just move on from it. I am not willing to write a full essay on a throwaway picture.

Just realized you only quoted me and mentioned Newcomb.

    God damn it.

Sorry for answering the question addressed to Newcomb. :/

Yeah my bad, that was confusing how I did that.

I agree with your interpretation. However I don't understand what made Newcomb reach that conclusion, and he didn't follow up on it in his wall.

Sometimes Newcomb says something that sounds kind of reasonable, but then I look at the posts he's talking about and I just can't see where he's getting his conclusions from. Which could mean he's operating another level than me, or could mean that he's making stuff up.

This early in the game and you only made like what? 10 posts while I was gone?

I have to break out in song again to describe my feelings ..

I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed

And yes .. the plan with my play is to be fairly open similar to last game.
Mostly because I don't have as much time to be a consensus townread, because I might be less active monday onwards. The other game is fast with 12/12 hour cycles, so it is most likely only a matter of me slacking through the 2nd half of d1, maaybe parts of d2.
Still enough to adjust my playstyle here from the get go.

That and Regfan said he likes it more when I play this way and I thought having the host like you more might be helpful if I want some abilities in this game.

    ---------- Post automerged at 08:33 ---------- Previous post was at 08:30 ----------

I had a similar thought afterwards.

Like I do like most things he said in his catch-up posts.

All looks well on first glance, but then I reread it because Waco asked me to and there were 2-3 things that jumped at me and I don't know what to do with them.

He said that he would be fairly inactive for the first half of d1, therefor I am somewhat impressed that he was able to put as much effort in as he did.
But the flaws are there and need answers at one point.

    Jan Let's compare.

I'm going to try and read Vira for myself right now by ISOing her and seeing what's been said so far because I've neglected her so far (cos I'm not as familiar with her in game), but you can weigh in.

You have Fluff too high. He's had 3 posts so far, and while I liked his first post as well, it has since been pointed out that it's mostly mechanical which is easy to fake (tone is still good). His other two posts were a question for clarification and saying he'll be away for a bit.

I have Newcomb a fair bit lower than you which is making me consider if it's just because he's voting me. My gut still says to not like him.

We're both null on Typhon. I feel like that's probably the best person to talk about right now. We both know him a bit, he's got content. Let's see if we can make a start at sorting him out.

Am I right to assume the middle part are all null reads?
Or does the order in the middle group matter?
    If so why?

Talk to me about your 4 scumspects.
What in detail do you dislike about Newcomb so far?

Is Tom that low on your list because he is Tom or is there a deeper reason?
I am unsure if Tom has done anything to make him stand out from the crowd.

tom is that low precisely because he hasn't done much yet.

It's what got me onto tom early last game (last game on site, the one I wasn't in). Town!tom is in the middle of things, but he wasn't as noticeable last game and when he was he wasn't as tom as he'd been in the games I'd played with him before, in all of which he was town.

    Eh. I get that.
I'm not really reading these mechanics posts because I don't care and there's not much else going on.

I'm gonna have to read them eventually apparently.

Fluff is that high for a bad reason alone.
He rolled scum 2 games ago and was somewhat invested and townread by everyone from the get go.

He seems more distanced do far, which is a bad reason because you don't want to support this kind of play and it is easy to take as scum. Just don't play for towncred.

The reason is bad, but the list is not written in stone.

The middle are null, but I still tried to order them.

Newcomb is off on me, but that's not necessarily scummy of him, I've drawn of plenty of suspicion so far. However his play and tone so far have just been rubbing me the wrong way somehow, there's something off there. Trying to work out if it's a genuine gutread or just me disliking him because he's voting me.

It was after a big string of [posts I was only skimming] and felt really out of flow. But, I actually liked that in retrospect. Part of my townread on Vira. Something about bucking status quo.
It's like there wasn't really an RVS in this game so much as just launching into mechanical discussion. Very disheartening. And that post felt like breaking it.
Didn't quite work out that way though.

I'll try to put into words why I ordered my nulls the way I did for you guys so we can talk about them.
