Cobalt seems to be a silly person to worry about, since he's not here. Like, sure, we can shrug lynch him at the end of the day if he keeps lurking, but he's basically the same as fluff right now.

And I mean, I'm trying to instill some sort of disciplined plan into people (and failing, but nevermind that). I know that bidding 499 is sound. There are 4 powers up today, and 10 members of town with 500 - if there was some pileup, that wasn't going to hurt us. But at this point we know that there have been no bids, so in a sense that's a good thing. Someone can bid 499, and whoever we lynch can bid 500. Easy peasy.

Is there a point to this line of questioning?

Doc-500*(0)=350
Gravedigger-75(150)=100
Hitman-0(299)=?
Neighborizer-150(100)=150

[role-value to town(value to scum)=reasonable bid]

TWTBAW from Rubicon seems to be the simplest shallow explanation for him to townread Vira. I thought (because I also thought Vira was town) it was likely indicative of him knowing the game rather than solving the game.

I prodded him to clarify precisely. My whole point was that whether there was actually the nuance that Rubicon claimed there was was alignment indicative.

I stopped, when it was clear that he had taken his final position, and considered what he said. I recalled a conversation with him in the past and compared the two exchanges. I decided that in this case, his reasoning was indistinguishable from TWTBAW.

I concluded that he was probably scum. I presented this to the thread. Responses ranged from shrugs to pushback. I made a note to not forget about it, and I dropped it. Now we're here.

This is probably true for Cobalt though. Like, my gut says hes scummy but it's probably in his townrange.

 

Actually, I guess to bring us up to real-time, Rubicon does a bunch of stuff that is solid if not particularly towny, and my read on him recedes to light scum. But that's neither here nor there for this particular discussion, I think.

Essentially I find it strange that doctor has 500 and hitman has 0, esp. considering all the mechanics talk from you and other folks who were all for bidding 500. I know I was, and I believe there was a specific point where I asked the thread if I should go 499 on it and no one responded.

So like now were actually kind of in a bad place because we won't know how much hitman goes for, because scum will hide the price at the end of th day. If town doesn't do anything and maf get it for a low price (god forbid it be one dollar) then, well, rip our advantage.

 

And me ignoring it except to call you town changed your mind?

I want to respond to some of this, but we're kinda in a place where any more mechanics talk of this sort is going to be hurtful to town. The important thing is that our lynch bids the full 500 on it.
